im prompted to ask this cos im looking after my mothers dog at the moment.  im supposed to be the alpha bitch in this situation, and im finding it really hard to be patient with the little MF.

i tried a bit of D/s with it, you know, praise when good, tell off when bad - but the creature is a hell hound with no discipline or regard for it and actually its domming me.

so, got me thinking, what are the qualities of a dominant that a submissive needs so much in their life.

There are many traits and no one has them all. Some will appeal to you more than others.

Ok i am going to be honest now, I need someone secure in himself something that many many Dominants have (yeah I must admit i love that element of arrogance) I need that because I dont have it in myself, I have spent a lot of my life trying to fix other people and to be honest its wasted effort becuase no one can fix anyone. I need someone who I respect, and I am shit at decisions I really cant make them even so much as whether I will walk into town to buy some chips I need someone to say its a good idea or else I would never do anything (its part of being far too analytical) So someone who knows what they want. I also need boundries (god I sound like a child) but I do, I can be a bit umm undelicate sometimes and I need to know the line. I need someone that I can trust and that I can talk to and that doesnt let things fester, I cant cope with thinking I have done something wrong but not being told. I also need to feel useful, I need to know that I am making someone happy.

Pretty terrible writing down I need I need I need but its true for me so there we go.

I was actually serious. you have to act like a sadist. Treat the dog like the Alfa dog would in areas of disobedience. Wrestle the dog down to the grown, growl at the dog, grasp it by the throat and pull at the scruff at the neck. You have to think like an alpha dog. I learned this after seeing my father throw my dog down a flight of stairs( I know abusive) and the dog was forever obedient with him and adoring. I also had an alpha dog who bit me. I was not able to show fear. The dog almost won that time, but I couldn't let him.

Wow, colouredin, while reading your "needs list", it felt as though you were describing me! Very cool!

In regards to the dog...put the little bastard in a crate for the larger part of the time. When he's out of the crate, give him potty time, food, water, a little love and then back in the crate. He'll soon learn you are master and deserve respect. Gee, maybe i have a D side i don't know about? Hell no! I'm a dog groomer and a dog owner! LOL!

and yes to all of that coulourdin, which means furzey and i are doomed to two weeks of power struggles and zero respect.  makes me realise where my sub tendencies come from though, my mother has to be the sub of all subs putting up with this toxic git.

Introduce him to a Vietnamese Family.  Then give him an Option either he Goes and does right or stays and takes his chances.

Also TAKE THE DOG FOR A WALK !!! Do many times a dog acts up because it is full of energy a dog should be walked at MINIMUM twice a day and each time shoudl be for an hour or more.
