Watched this last night....... what a terrific film, by the Coen brothers, of a novel by Cormac McCarthy. Anyone else enjoy it? Think it sucked turkey legs?

It's an excellent movie.

Though, as usual, I preferred the book over the movie. I thought they did a fairly good job adapting the book for the big screen.

I watched it the night it was released on DVD.  I really liked it as I do EVERY Coen brothers movie.  This is one where I actually believe the movie far exceeded the book.  I hardly ever think that but I can't tolerate McCarthy's writing style.  I think he's a brilliant thinker but his choppy, one sentence paragraph's style drives me batty.  It's like reading a pared-down script.  No descriptive language, no dialogue, just short sentence after short sentence.  I have tried to make myself read his novels and I've never made it though a whole one yet.  Better to wait for the movies, sadly.  I have had more success listening to them on audio CD.  "No Country For Old Men" was read to me this way

The movie kicked tail.  Josh Brolin was hot, Tommy Lee Jones shined and "Chigurh" was a scary mofo...............luci
