So much for McCain "can't beat either of them"

If one in five democrats switch to McCain, he may win 45+ states!

Yep, that's why the Democrats do shitty in Presidential elections.  They have never got their house in order and they don't put their differences aside.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: 1 in 5 Democrats will vote for McCain if their man/womyn isn't the Prez. Canidate (3/22/2008 5:20:51 PM)

it's more than that....

Southern White Democrats, and Reagan Blue Collar democrats will just not vote for a Black Canidate.

And If Mrs. Clinton. "steals" the election from Obama, Blacks and the true Liberals will not vote for her.

I doubt there is a way to get that house in order.

Black Americans have been loyal soliders in Democrat politics for years and years and frankly, they feel they have earned there time to vote for one of their own.

I do not think Senator Obama can win the general election but he will plant the seeds of a Black American President before the 2050 mark. I truly belive he is the Al Smith to the JFK. Kennedy would have never won in 1960 if Al Smith didn't run in 1926.

Sanity -> RE: 1 in 5 Democrats will vote for McCain if their man/womyn isn't the Prez. Canidate (3/22/2008 8:13:41 PM)

The Democrats changed their primaries around partly because they thought that they were settling on their candidates too quickly without properly vetting them, sticking them with losers for the general election (read "Gore" and "Kerry").

NOW look what they have, an endless, scratch-your-eyes-out death match. I could almost pity them!

I will, though some won't.

Of course, all this is predicated on the laughably naive belief that your vote is actually counted and means anything.

Which it obviously isn't -- and doesn't.

Disagree? Prove it is counted, and it does mean something.

Rotsa Ruck!

( But it does make the pre-planned and fabricated results more palatable, doesn't it? )

cyberdude611 -> RE: 1 in 5 Democrats will vote for McCain if their man/womyn isn't the Prez. Canidate (3/23/2008 5:29:21 AM)

Combine this with Howard Dean wasting money by spending it in solid GOP states like Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming....the Dems are on a road to disaster in this election. They may be able to win house and senate seats, but when it comes to the electoral college....Democrats suck.

A new poll in Michigan and Florida is also very alarming for Democrats. Nearly 1/5th of Democrats in those state say they will either vote for McCain or not vote at all if the Democrats refuse to seat their delegates at the convention.

This election is way too far out to predict. I spent a little time looking at some of the new state polls out and let me just say it's a mess. We've got about a dozen states that could go either way (and not just red states, but quite a few big blue states are up in the air as well). But it is quite obvious that this primary process has already severely damaged the Democratic party. And if it goes beyond April, the wounds may be too deep to heal before Novemeber.

The Democrat nominee does not have this in the bag. McCain has just as good of a chance of winning.

I wanna see a basketball game.

Obama and Hillary and Ron Paul; against Mccain and Queen England, and George Bush

heck- velloy ball- tennis, racket ball, soccer- it is all good.

servantforuse -> RE: 1 in 5 Democrats will vote for McCain if their man/womyn isn't the Prez. Canidate (3/23/2008 5:58:04 AM)

The most laughable thing to me is this. All we have heard from the Democrats in the last 2 elections is 'count every vote'. Remember Florida and Ohio ? Now they won't count their own votes from Florida and Michigan. I think it's priceless....

popeye1250 -> RE: 1 in 5 Democrats will vote for McCain if their man/womyn isn't the Prez. Canidate (3/23/2008 5:59:43 AM)

As an Independant I don't have a dog in this fight so I hope everyone votes for a Third Party candidate just to send a message to the R's and D's that (they) are out of touch with the American People.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: 1 in 5 Democrats will vote for McCain if their man/womyn isn't the Prez. Canidate (3/23/2008 7:24:52 AM)

Why would you say this? Because of White Southern stereotypes or Blue Collar White Stereotypes? As an independent I will likely be voting Obama if he gets the nomination, but if Hillary gets it I will be voting McCain.

Hey Bull   I'd vote for you.   But first you gotta explain how to give the veterans back what was taken and promised to them by the politicians.

xBullx -> RE: 1 in 5 Democrats will vote for McCain if their man/womyn isn't the Prez. Canidate (3/23/2008 12:13:34 PM)

Hell that's an easy question.

First off, you know how to tell when a politician is lying don't you? His(gender neutral) lips are moving. (Uhmmm, mouth lips)

The service agreements are easy enough to solve, don't allow any more benefit to Congressmen than they allow the serviceman. (while pay scales would obviously be different, the benefits and health care should be the same for all Government employees. No added perks, no special facilities. If Walter Reed AMC (and all other VA Hospitals) are good enough for our Warriors, it is good enough for all officials. Congress and the other branches are allowed to many exclusive perks. Our servicemen are most likely the best cared for in the world, but to us Warrior types and those that love us, it will never be enough, while to those holding the purse strings its most likely a bit costly to look after an Army. It's reasonable to assume most of the lawmakers have children at Harvard and not in Iraq.

The fact is we have far to few common thinking men that are slumming in the Washington Capaital Area. Maybe its always been that way. Those that are making so many of our choices are so out of touch with the realities of daily life they aren't capable of making a good decision for a warrior or a commoner.

I think the most important thing any American can do is to be more than cheap talk and political misdirective action.

Live up to who you are and what you claim to be. If you can't live up to your word, live only in our memory and not our future.

Was that a filibuster?

Bull

Unfortunately, that particular write in would just mean a three way tie since all three are so full of it, they could all claim it was a vote for them.

You obviously have a limited insight to what has transpired in these events to make you believe that there is some sort of correlation. Please explain how the two are related.
