I get this feeling a lot.
 
Not too long ago, I had a friend tell me, something like; I need to try to think more like everyone else.
 
I know he only said it in trying to be helpful, because he cares, and I do appreciate it.
 
The problem is, I was already trying to do that; obviously, with little success.
 
So I decided to just try being me. Yeah….
 
Any who; if you do feel like that, ever, and wouldn’t mind sharing, I would really appreciate it.

No. I think human beings are the centre of the planet, and as No. 1 human, I tend to think I own this place.

That's not to say we shouldn't take care of our property.

What are the consequences of this thought? Presumably your friends think you're quirky, but there's no problem. I'd be concerned in the event you're isolating yourself.

I was taught very differently than normal. You just don't know. And you'll never know know how much I appreciate it. I mean when I asked for a definition of a word I got punched in the stomach.

My intellect was, in a way forced on me. And the funny thing is that I was hungry for it. I not only accepted it I embraced it, and unfortunately am now am the leader of the family. Funny if they found I was from another planet, some alien experiment gone wrong.

But what of them. No normal people could raise something like me.

You have no idea. My Dad helped me build an electronics kit, a transmitter and I was thrilled. A few days later he was all drunk and pissed on the encyclopedia, the YPSE, IMO one of the best things I have ever seen. I read it almost cover to cover.

But that taught me that nothing physical is permanent. I had the words that I had read in it in my brain, and it was not going to let go.

You don't even want to know the rest of the story, you might start trying to kickme off this planet. Hey, I am 47 so if you ain'tolder than that you can't kick me off, I was here first.

But yes, getting off the soapbox and whatever, while I will help a stranger in need, don't get me wrong, I feel very disconnected from most humans. I don't think like them, or would that be more aptly put they don't think like me. Because really if they had the capabiity for thought, they would not do what they do.

I dont think anyone is normal, and some are less normal than others but thats what makes them interesting, of course you belong on this planet even if you dont think like evryone else, its the people who dont think like everyone else that make this planet a worthwhile place to live.

Things that verify what I’ve always felt:
 
I think backwards
I am undereducated for the thoughts I have
My focus falls on other aspects, of the same priorities, as most
My compass does not point North
And if I came with a map; I’v lost the freakin’ thing
 
While there are probably other reasons I can’t think of right now; three really big ones are:
 
I will swear until I leave this place, I once saw a pattern in the paneling of my bedroom wall, “talk” to me, and then saw the gold pocket watch it was swinging back and forth, in my bed sheets, when I went to leave the room.
 
I am positive I can “think” things to happen (I have a few examples of this). Though I would not say I made them happen.
 
And just a week or two ago;
I saw a castle in the sky, or maybe the reflection of one, when out on an errand with my oldest. (he saw it too)

How do you know what forwards thinking is?
So you are clever, lots of people are
How do you know what everyone else prioritises?

Thats a problem with thinking everyone things the same, I always used to get told at school that i thought sideways rather than in a line, fuck knows what that means.

Then I guess I can only hope I am on the average side of abnormal?

I have ADHD (the definition of which is a myth), forward thinking is what most of my class mates were doing, that I was unable to.

I don’t know everyone else’s, but I do read the boards. I am interested in many of the topics, but have a hard time contributing, because my point of relevance is usually quite different the OP’s.

I was told I was a daydreamer (this is what happens when you bore someone to death)
Immature (what they call you when you  write down the last sound that passes through your thoughts, instead of in order. i.e. twenty-one becomes 12.
And sensitive, becuase I became frustrated over not getting it "right".

I look at it this way, the world is run by these "normal" people, look around you and this world is the consequence of that thinking(politics,conflict,corruption, etc.). "Normal" people have a lot to account for, some good, mostly bad. However, I 100% assure you if everyone was abnormal like me there would be no wars, there would be no starvation, there would be less suffering. I don't see much to envy in the "Normal". If you look back on history almost all the great advances were made by the non-normal people, the herd just wanders in later and benefits from it. They are passionate, they are willing to sacrifice, they are will to try abnormal things, that may or may not work. Your normal person, is content, fucking, eating, bashing when able, and dying, with out adding one lick to anything.

I wouldn't be ashamed to be non-"normal", it's a low bar, I'd shoot myself in the head if I ever aspired to "normal".

Fuck normal that's what's wrong with the world, normal is dispassionate, shallow, indulging, self-centered, and myopic. Normal, LOL, you don't want to be normal, unless you're hallucinating, and hearing people talk to you that aren't there, you are probably just better than normal.

Status: offline 		I'd estimate that many people are lost/frustrated etc because they don't understand situations they find themselves in, and this leads to a sense of hopelessness and despair. Subsequently, the search for the meaning of life is on, but it can only ever be a fruitless cycle because of the intangible nature of the concept and because we're restricted by the available knowledge.

For me, therein lies the solution. Paint your own picture; the meaning of your life is no more than that which you make of your life. You can set tangible objectives and plans to meet those objectives. In contrast, you can never fully understand the situations you find yourself in, or the world around you, with the best will in the world; it's a self-defeating cycle.

For some, of course, painting your own picture is a terrifying thought because all alibis and excuses are removed - the joint venture with god/grand design is off . There is an alternative, however, and that is seeing this philosophy as an uplifting one, that is underpinned by sturdy optimism, action and achievement . Of course, painting your own picture does not mean we disregard those around us; on the contrary, it places humans and social cohesion at the centre of existence.

In sum, it doesn't matter whether or not you're in the minority view; what matters is that you live your life, and focus on making something from the opportunities that are presented to you. Nor does it matter that you don't understand what is going on around you - to date, this understanding has eluded the greatest minds in history. My advice is to think clearly: you get one life, there are opportunities out there - take them.

If you can adapt yourself to this line of thinking, you'll throw off the anxiety that is wrapped up in searching for a greater meaning and understanding. You'll move towards clear thinking and action. Consequently, you may find you don't care how others view you, and this renewed sense of self-certainty will lead to you finding, and being comfortable with, your place in the world.

Perhaps you're focusing too much on what you're not. Excuse the crudeness, but we have a saying over here - you can only fuck with the cock you're dealt - make the best of the tools you have at your disposal and work to improve those tools over time. Concentrate on your achievements. You let yourself down from time to time? Don't we all eh......dust yourself down, get back on the horse and have another go. In any given situation there are positives and negatives - take the positives; for example, you're seeing castles in the sky, there are people who spend a fortune on drugs for that kind of experience: you're getting it free of charge!

Above all, relax, don't give yourself a hard time :-)

The thing is- I still rant.  Luckily those that know me- know that while I get bitchy, I am not a threat to the apple cart.  [dont upset the apple cart]   Meanwhile- the cart  wobbles, jumps, maybe even summersaults.      Making people nervous.

So how to shake the apple cart.with out- upsetting it.

Thats the riddle.

Status: offline 		I have for years felt like I didn't fit in, like I was a loser in some sense or another, and even that "normal" every day life was harder for me than for everyone else. (I have ADHD as well, btw).

A good friend of mine helped me realize, that my opinions about normal are based solely on my perception of other people. At the end of the day, we're all just "faking it" to a certain degree. She further pointed out to me that "on paper" I appear to be a lot more together than I feel.

It took me ALOT of years to find someone that gets me without me having to explain myself and justify why I said or did x. I've managed at this point to find two and I can live with that. I also realized that my other good friends, they know I'm weird, and they don't care. They praise me for my accomplishments and tell me it's not as bad as I think when I complain about my short-comings.

One last thing, I understand the undereducated thing. I eventually decided to go back to school and get my degree. I found that as far as other people were concerned, it legitimized and enhanced my natural knowledge, and gave me a little more confidence.

Status: offline 		Yes I do and I am trying to patiently wait for the Mothership to come and pick me up. Realistically I know there is no Mothership thats going to come and that I am stuck on this planet with many illogical earthlings. So I will make the best of it and spend quality time with my child and my submissive. I'll live life as best I can on this overpopulated, toxic world.
