I do believe that the word Attorney and Ridiculous are symonyms.

In our democracies that are rather overcrowded with legal experts attempting to acquire a excessively modest living and exploit the mistakes of those with some funds we will discover this a ever-growing trend.

I call it the disclaimer effect. When I buy a new livstock trailer the front corner and inside is plastered with stickers that explain openly these rather obvious ways to hurt yourself or the animals, but without them some attorney has a loop hole to extract change from the manufacturer's pocket.

It keeps the sticker manufacturer employeed though.

A few years ago, I bought a pinata; it came with a stick for breaking it open.
The directions said "Take much care when whacking with the whacking stick."

Yes...

i don't have one at the moment, so i have to paraphrase, but...

Hooters brand hot wing sauce. Glass jar, metal cap, like a jelly jar.

On the cap it says something to the effect of "Remove cap before use"

What the FUCK is the alternative? Toss the whole jar into the frying pan and hope it will flavor the chicken by osmosis? If somebody has not yet mastered "Remove lid from jar", can they really be expected to read instructions?

Yep, you gotta stop for a moment as if pondering that heavy question... hmmm. I don't know... no, most likely not illegal .... could I get back with you? I had to change my babies shirt last time we went to the airport- it said "I hide crack in my diaper" I thought it was cute- too many dumb people.

Two of my favorites:

At the airport - "Did anyone put anything in your luggage without your knowledge?"

From a mental health interview - "Have you ever seen someone that wasn't there?"

The answer to both is... How would I know???

I have only seen this one once in VA I believe, I went to Mcd's drive through and they had a Braille drive through menu----wtf?? if you are driving you must be able to see and if you are blind in the car would the driver not tell you what is on the menu?  Besides what do you do stop the car- get out- and read the menu while someone behind runs you down??

My other favorite is always the clean restrooms,  I would love to see truth in advertising on that one,  We have foul dirty unclean restrooms.

That or clean sheets-would you advertise if you did not change the sheets?

Just more things to make you go hmmmmm?!?!?!?!

Yeah, I don't get the braille menu at the drive-up ATM either.  The walk-up, sure, but the drive-up?

i always liked the sign in the post office, grocery store or elsewhere that states "no dogs allowed except seeing eye dogs" i still don't believe that seeing eye dogs can read, or tell anyone.

Cockroach Slain   TEL AVIV - An Israeli woman's fight with a stubborn cockroach put her husband in the hospital with burns, a broken pelvis and broken ribs, the Jerusalem Post reported. The woman, frightened by the insect when she found it in the living room, stepped on it, threw it in the toilet and sprayed a full can of insecticide on it when it refused to die. Her husband came home from work, went to the toilet and lit a cigarette. When he threw the cigarette butt into the bowl, the insecticide ignited, "seriously burning his sensitive parts," the Post wrote. When paramedics were called to the home in Tel Aviv, they laughed so hard when they learned what had happened that they dropped the stretcher down the stairs, breaking the unidentified man's pelvis and ribs.

Isn't there a warning label on chainsaws that says "Do not attempt to stop moving blade with hands or genitals"?

The sad thing is, if they're warning people about it, it probably means somebody's tried to do it.  Mr. Darwin, where are you now.

Maybe on the ones they sell at WalMart... i know my Husqvarna doesn't mention anything about genitals, but a Black & Decker? Probably.

However, the instruction manual does have a great pictogram indicating that if you are sitting on a tree branch, you should not use the chainsaw to cut the branch between yourself and the tree trunk.

Srsly.

Some days i wonder just how Wile E. Coyote would have fared if all his wonderful Acme purchases had been labeled in accordance with 2008 safety standards...

ya know...the scary thing is that they usually don't put these warning labels on unless some dumbass actually TRIED it...

It must be a requirement because I was at A and W/Long John Silvers and they had a sign posted that said Warning, we sell shell fish to those who are alergic to shell fish.

Sadly, 80% of the population has to live to the standards of 20% of the population who have good attorneys.

The book The English mentions a sign saying, "It is forbidden to throw stones at this notice."

This brought to mind those airport announcements about not accepting bags or packages from strangers. I always thing, "Hell, I don't carry my own luggage if I can possibly avoid it. I'm certainly not taking on other people's!"
