my personal favorite is the "No Stopping,Standing or Parking" now what i want to know with that is this. What the hell are you supposed to do in those zones where your vehicle breaks down?doesn'tthat count as stopping(not intentionally) waiting for the tow truck people either sit in the car or stand by it so they can ben seen by the tow truck driver, but in doing so in those zones is breaking the law?

and you know i'm ust sitting here dying to go up to all the matresses in the house and pull off those,Do Not Remove Label" k really, where's the matress police, they haven't come to my door yet and i've been tearing em off for years. spray cans, Contents Under Pressure............another no shit sherlock. or better yet for those of us under 5ft4 Keep Out of Reach of Children................ummmmmmmm that's half the kitchen cabnets.

When I came to UK, or maybe it was already when I left to Ireland in 2003, I was quite amused to read in t-shirts "keep away from fire" (or similar...)...I really had to laugh when I read this, as I never read something like that before written in clothes...and I think nowhere else either...I mean, most materials don't do too well with fire...thats logic....I thought...

These signs are all far too litteral.  What about a sign that just says "Duck"?  Was it put there when a duck was hanging around?  Am I supposed to duck?  If so, why?

Actually, a friend of mine differentiates between peanuts and nuts.  She's deathly allergic to nuts, she can eat peanuts.  She descibes this difference as peanuts being LEGUMES, and nuts being, well, nuts.

The following are biologically nuts:
  • Family Juglandaceae

  • Family Fagaceae

  • Family Betulaceae

Anyhow, as she would read this bag; "may contain nuts" would be an indication that these peanuts, although normally safe for her, may have come into contact with other nuts and therefore are no longer safe for her.

I'm so disappointed (and sad, to boot)

I just went to the fridge to check my Tesco lean beef mince (chilli tomorrow night), hoping, expecting, yearning to find amongst the rest of the labelling "unsuitable for a vegetarian diet".

    But it wasnt there.

I wonder where I can find a no win no fee lawyer this time of night? I feel a lawsuit coming on......

Heard a comedian, "On a ladder it says 'Do noy eat', I think if someone eats a ladder they deserve whatever happens to me.".I have not personally seen such a notice, but I almost believe it, some things are just too stupid to make up.

But I have seen signs that said "School crossing". I don't know anout you, but in these part when they put up a school it stays put. I have never seen one cross the road. But really if you do see a school cross the road, stop and let it go across, to do ptherwise would damage your car.

"Road work ahead" , you really have to appreciate that they put that sign there instead of athe end of the stretch undergoing construction, and there they put one that says "End construction", I just can't resist saying out loud, even alone "I'm for that". This is Ohio and we got two seasons here. Construction, construction that they can't do because of the weather, and frigid, when nobody cares because most of don't leave the house unless it is a matter of life and death. Actually the signs at the state lines say it all "This is Ohio, prepare to stop, and stop, and stop, and stop. Well I guess I can see why they don't have that sign.

Actually I guess you missed my post in humopr about toasters. Well one particulaer new toaster. Reading the manual of course it says to plug it in only to a 120 volt 60 Hz outlet with sufficient current capacity. It goes on to say that this should always be a three prong propely grounded outlet. But get this, it does not have a three prong plug !

Oh,and that's not all, it goes on to warn the user that handling the AC cord exposes the user to lead. Well it's made in China, what did you expect ? It also warns that you should not allow children or pets to chew on the AC cord for obvious reasons, I think if your kids are chewing on the toaster cord maybe you should make them some toast ? Or something, damn.

Now that I think of it, doesn't lead conduct elecricity ? In that light do you think it wise to put it in the insulation of electrical wires ? Beam me up Scotty.

You know my position on health and disease. Got this multi-mineral supplement, a super supplement, says it can cause a diabetic to lose insulin resistance. Excuse me but doesn't that generall mean that you are less diabetic ? I agree that it should be there, but they preface it with WARNING !

I mean of shit can negatively affect someone's tolerance to massive doses of insulin, they should stay away from it ? HA.

On keyboards (for PCs) "WARNING : Use of this product may cause wrist and hand problems and may result in carpal tunnel syndrome" , something to that effect. IT might say "Or other health problems" , but I am sure you have seen it.

Well now they got V shaped keyboard, pads etc., all that and the are touted as being able to reduce carpal tunnel syndrome, but the sticker it still there, "May cause carpal tunnel sydrome".

And I need to touch on drugs. Oh boy, I am surprised nobody has latched onto this as of yet. It is so ridiculous. Viagra is close to being off the market. Ciallis is very similar. Both can cause blindness. I know two guys who have used it not for ED, but to enhance their sexual stamina. Is that worth your eyesight ? Talk about "You'll go blind", and "Can I just do it until I need glasses ?". That one takes on a whole new meaning doesn't it ?

But if you want something ridiculous, try this :

    http://members.aol.com/JURB6006/Killyastine.htm

Look at the bottom where it gives the side effects. That page is a joke and was meant to be, but life is catching up to jokes it seems. Yes you can grow hair, but do not even come into contact with any Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Wait a minute, why did you want hair in the first place ? Was it because you wanted to buy smaller hats ?

It really is getting ridiculous, but I do not want to dwell on drugs, so I won't.

Hey, that brake pedal in your car, did you read what it is used for in the owner's manual or did you just jump in and drive ? Foolish, to not realize that we need to be told everything is very intrepid. And the ironic thing is that nowadays, that is correct.

Or better yet, the tag on my blow dryer reminds me not to operate it while bathing, sleeping or  with the safety cover removed... Well hell, If I am sleeping I can't promise I wont take the thing apart, hop into the bath and crank the sucker on! I mean, at that point I will not be stopping to read the labels!

Now that I actually wouldn't have thought of.

Drying my hair while I'm sleeping that is.

Not that I actually have enough hair to dry (at 5 months away from 50...and I'd like to add....almost everyone says to me "Gris....you don't look a day over 49, 3 months, 26 days").

Nevertheless....drying my hair while I'm sleeping....well, it just never actually crossed my mind.

And a very good warning it is. Those of us who are on oral medication for diabetes may need to know something like that, else we run the risk of having our blood sugar go too low.

On a less serious note: Years ago I was in the group of potential jurors being run through the selection process for a civil trial. From the questions being asked, I gleaned that the trial was over the fact that a man (the plaintiff) had cut the ends of his fingers off because he stuck his hand under a lawn mower while the machine was running. He was suing the local Ace Hardware store where he bought the mower, the entire Ace Hardware chain, and the manufacturer of the mower. All because they had not put a label on the mower saying, "WARNING: blades are sharp. Do not stick hand under mower while blades are turning."

I would have loved to have been on that jury - but I suppose the prosecuting attorney would not have accepted me.

Cockroach Slain   TEL AVIV - An Israeli woman's fight with a stubborn cockroach put her husband in the hospital with burns, a broken pelvis and broken ribs, the Jerusalem Post reported. The woman, frightened by the insect when she found it in the living room, stepped on it, threw it in the toilet and sprayed a full can of insecticide on it when it refused to die. Her husband came home from work, went to the toilet and lit a cigarette. When he threw the cigarette butt into the bowl, the insecticide ignited, "seriously burning his sensitive parts," the Post wrote. When paramedics were called to the home in Tel Aviv, they laughed so hard when they learned what had happened that they dropped the stretcher down the stairs, breaking the unidentified man's pelvis and ribs.

    ROFLMAO!!!!
