I understand a picture of a favorite toy .. or ones passion .. but the toybag full ??

I don't check out many profiles but It's interesting sometimes to see the toy pictures. It tells a little bit about that dominant's mindset. Are they are all percussion toys? That's not uncommon. I like to see a little variation from the usual (yawn) floggers, handcuffs and vibes. The posting of the pics in and of itself doesn't really say much to me. Seeing a cattle prod or a box of hypodermic needles every so often would be refreshing.

I could guess why... but I'll admit I have a negative reaction to it... I'm not sure who its meant to entice... I was thinking there is some thought that it adds legitimacy to whatever claims they make about prowess...

I have seen them in all kinds of profiles though, not just male doms...

I understand why pros have them... that makes sense to me...

Its something I noticed a long time ago and mentioned in my journal

I have photos of some of my toys in my profile. Is it all my toys.. by no means. I have more toys than most Pros. I have a few dozen of my favorites shown. Are they there to show experience, one upsmanship or the other negative connotations people have mentioned? No.. they are there because I love them. Just as I assume your photos on your profiles reflect what you enjoy or love.

And I love when others show toys in their profile. I love seeing what is out there and what people actually use.  When someone has a photo of something I find dull.. I just move on. I don't bother to become offended because they've shared something I've no interest in seeing. I don't read into the posted photos (I'd never think you were into something illegal for photos of your pets) and I don't bother to analyze the psyche of the poster.

well I guess u just experience the freedom to advertise what picture a person choose to display just as u use looking at Dominant profile as a bored killer then some Dominant experience or not do sometime display toys for that ohhhhhhhhhhh sweet sound of other same as the reason to be on any web site at all even if u have a Master/Dom or not, but nice question anyway and the picture of toy don't verify the experience of a Dom but the quality of them and the right combination the experience slave/sub will recognize some level of experience.

someone mentioned bodily fluids on toys- I've only ever used vibes on one sub, and when we parted ways, I wound up giving her the vibe.  I figure it's not to expensive to buy a new dildo  for every new sub.  Especially at the rate that I acquire subs...

I have a decent collection. Not vast, but I dont need a vast one. I dont think anyone really cares to see what I own, especially if they arent into what I am into (the majority of my toys centered around Angel's age play for a while) so I dont bother documenting it. If you have a reason to see them, youl get to see my toy box in real life, if not, then it doesnt matter what I have in there.  I have a few bits that show up in my pictures as props with Fox and myself, and I have a picture of Angel around here somewhere in his collar. But thats about it. Everything else is on a need to know basis.

When I see a huge collection, I wonder if someone is hoping that even if a sub doesnt find them all that appealing, they will see a toy they'd really like to have tried on them and contact anyway. Nothing like setting yourself up to be used.

hmm, it occurs to me that this is a BDSM web site, and seeing pictures of such collections never made me think anyone was ingaged in a "bigger d***" contest. seeing a collection of fly tackle might have struck me as out of place, then i'd of thought, "different strokes for different folks," then wondered if such a thing a "fish play" existed. do you know anything about this, Aquatic Sub? but i stray from the topic.

our collection isn't on photo, however, i find it very artistic. of corse, i am slightly warped. it hides behind our door, in plane sight if the door is open. we have orange holiday lights in the room, and i find the image striking. i've had no motivation to take a picture yet, nor load it to O/our profiles, yet i can't fault anyone who has.  maybe, they're just happy for the image, or see it like art.

Now I just can't help Myself.

I'm the same.  I love My toys.  There are several reasons for it.  In My view, it isn't even just the play aspect, though I would be foolish to even think that isn't a part of it.  There's also the beauty of the work involved.  The good memories associated with when I acquired them.  I specifically say acquired, because I didn't buy all of them Myself.  Some were gifts, so I think fondly of the person who gave a particular toy that was bought for Me.  Happy memories of places I've been or functions I attended.  Some, when purchased, had the proceeds going to charity.  There's something good connected with every toy that I own, and like you, BeachMystress, My collection rivals that of most pros.

I like browsing pics of someone elses toychests or dungeons. I think it's cool how some people have obviously put alot of time and effort in aquiring all these toys and building a space to keep them organized. If you have a large toy collection, why not show it with pride?

I also like browsing said pics to see what could possibly go on my shopping list next time [:D]

Sorry for answering in this forum. But i have to say, for me it is a bit of a turn off to see plugs, balls gags, dildos, and other insertable toys in the photoes.  Even though i am submissive, if my Dominant came to me and said "oh, i found this in my toy bag" and held up a dildo, i would be asking if it was new and if not, i wouldn't let it be used on me.
i don't mind photoes of toys, but like others who posted, i would like to see more of the person, who they are.

I like stuff that can be sanitized. O.O Medical grade latex, stainless steel.... *Throws everything into the boiling pot*

The only toy I'd ever consider posting a pix of would be a flogger I'm particuarly fond of... but it'd have to be an interesting shot.  A pile of leather strings isn't very entertaining. O.o

Now, if they had made the item... talking about a welded collar/restraints or something here.. not chopstick-nippleclamps.. than I think that's something interesting to post.

a Dominants toys mean nada to me. seeing pic after pic of toys in ones profile is good tho, it tells me we are not on the same page. 
the most fun i have had is with a creative minded Dominant and his strong hands. 
now, i am not saying that i don't like good quality toys because i do, but i would much rather see them in person than set out lifeless in a photo.

I never thought to do such a thing but a friend mentioned something that made me think.

If you have a certain fondness for a particular toy, a Quirt, a Tas, a John Holmes Pump Action Dildo.... Don't you think seeing one in a profile would make you take a longer look at the profile?

I think it is silly myself I really don't wanna see your toys, I wanna see a Good full body picture and a close up face picture of YOU. And this goes for any profile this isn't a perv thing either. All I am looking for is a Full Body or waist up picture and a close up facial picture and thins gives me an idea of what you look like, beyond that I don't care.

I am equally as confused who women post thier nude or half clothes bodies then bitch about all the HNG's that try to "Dom" them in thier first e-mail .

Toys are Tools, And no one needs to see the tools, a Carpenter Never sends a Photo of his Tools to a perspective client. They show pictures that reflect them and thier work. So just show YOU!.

I know not everyone is down on the whole showing thier face picture but you know I would rather see NO Picture than an old picture where I can't even see your face. Just my personal Preference.

I am so glad I am not the only one amused by the toy photo album.

My most favourite are the ones that are obviously downloaded photos off of sites you can buy the toys from. I saw one guy's profile had almost every implement of destruction downloaded from one particular section of JT's Stockroom. Exact same photos. I always wonder if that is just their wishlist......"please, buy this for me"
