I'm perfectly content with average (6 or 7 inches) sizes. Larger can be a lot of fun. But as with all things, the negative effects span both ends of the spectrum. Smaller than five really isn't any fun for me and larger than ten is just painful. I've had lovers on both ends of that spectrum, so I'm speaking from experience. Of course, there are ways to compensate for both. Toy play and manual/oral stimulation can supplement lovemaking for both types.

Edited to add: Ok, I revise the above to say, smaller than four isn't really any fun. I take it back. I have trouble with the whole distance perception thing. LOL. So I looked at a ruler.

Yep. I've read that before. As always, all I can give you are my opinions and personal experiences. It's been my experience that six or seven inches is average for the men I've been with, with a few over that and a very few under. I suppose I'm just a very lucky girl. *grin*

Just wanted to add to the stats that the average 'length' for a woman internally who has not experienced childbirth is 4" - five for one who has had a child. Obviously, with gradual introduction, it can take more...

Yeah, Anerien (sp?) once posted some average sizes and I was surprised at what was considered average. It's smaller than what I had heard over the years. Internationally, it's smaller still.

I am pretty surprised by Darcyandthedark contribution here also. FWIW, I have been with women that felt more expansive internally; and also some so tight it was really a lot of work just getting it in. Tight can mean nervousness, but that loose feeling isn't always the man's fault.

I agree that its not always the males fault(being too small). Ive seen(lol..not felt thank goodness) females that u could just plain out tell that they were loose*shudders*. And then theres some(Me for example) that is very tight-thus why I prefer the "average size". Frankly intercourse in itself is a bit painful and not in a good way(when I had My episiotomy from My first birth 17 years ago, that scar STILLLLLLLL hurts(they way they cut Me was from My perineum(coming from inside the "kitty" extending out close to My asshole-60 fuckin stitches!They said My son had a big head coming out..lol....he STILL has a "Big Head"-ego ppl). I wont touch anything over 7(and thats pushing it!). NOW-that dont mean I wont litterally touch anything over 7-just means I got more to wrap up in rope!!!!!

The vaginal wall is pretty elastic (and no, that isn't a green light for sadists to try and ping it) Sugar, and stress can take it's toll on the vagina too. Plus mucus secretion and monthly cycle always contributes to vaginal elasticity(sp?).
I am definately biased on the girth rather than the length, but I don't believe I could be happy with anything less than I am blessed with now... but I won't post sizes coz it might make others feel a bit inferior...(sorry - tmi but I could not resist being a slut)

This is what I meant when I stated only a small fraction of men fall into the range the majority of women consider ideal. The average is lower than what people believe it is, being actually 5.1-5.7 (80% of men) while research has shown women consider 6-8 inches ideal (80% of women).

Take NakedOnMyChain, she considers herself a very lucky girl, and rightfully so

her partners have mostly fallen into the ideal range (then again maybe not, maybe she just thinks they did with her distance perception thing lol). The general theme is one of happiness with men within this range from most women which is to be expected. They have a greater potential to give pleasure than an average sized man if he's willing to learn how to use it.

However.....(and its a very important however) this doesn't take into account that woman's psychological perception of size at the time effects their physiological sense of size, as does their psychological state in general. This is often what women tend to remember as his size rather that the actual dimensions and why women don't particularly care about size in general, placing it way down the list of what they want it a partner.

The researchers state this fact in their studies, suggesting that the size women state as ideal could be in part taken from the perception of the size of partners that have pleased them rather than the reality, potentially making the results of what is ideal slightly inaccurate.
