Expert, lets break it down. Ex = Former or Has Been Spurt = A drop of water, or some other liquid under pressure. Thus: Expert = A has been drip under pressure.

Some people have devoted real time and have mastered some areas of ability, but when there's basically one big ol' list of "expert" I wonder at it with an admittedly cynical mindset.
