Falling in love is not something one chooses to do or not... it simply happens. Even the best relationships are both heaven and hell... that's what makes them interesting.

Distance is not a problem for the heart. I've been in love with my New Yorker boy Nik for years, yet I have not seen him face to face since Labor Day weekend, 1993. Since then, he has married and had two children. He even named his son after mine. (I'm sure his wife does not know where he got the name!) Yes, it has been torture for both of us. But the moments of total bliss make up for it. I have tried to purge him from my heart many times over the years... but I realize that my life would be empty without him. Even though I cannot see him or touch him... I know he is there for me when I truely need him, and that is enough.

Could we make it if we had a true, live in type relationship? I don't know. Sometimes I long for the chance to try it. I dream of having him always at hand... just two steps behind me... However, I am many things... Home wrecker is not one of them. So he stays in NY with his family. I stay here in TN with mine. We have the internet and phone calls... and plans for another meeting this summer to catch up on so many, many things and see if we really can still get along with each other after all these years.

i almost can feel the passion between You folks and if You say that You know each other for so long i admire Your power of loving. i know how You feel cause i have been involved on an online rollercoster with a Lady from US. i live downunder. i did make it possible to bring Her here for a holiday last June so we can meet and get to know each other better. The distance is a real problem and is painful to be apart. She has a family and a husband and i am just a single guy with no kids. However She is trying to make me go to where She is and take over Her husbands duties, but i cant do that!!! i don't want to be responsible for her husband to be sidelined and me to become an overnight parent. i tried breaking the bond we have many times but i always find myself drawn back to Her. We both can see that it will be hard for us to live together so we decided to remain friends. i hope in the future when i get some time to visit Her.. i wish You good luck with your boy and Your future plans with him. Thank you, pete. I often find it sad that so many people in our society do not understand the heart's capacity to love... or the many, many types of love there are. So many still seem to believe in that Puritan idealistic of one man, one woman in love forever, amen. I'm sure that we all know a couple like that... But how many more people have some variation? I no longer condemn anyone else's idea of what love is because I know from personal experience that no one person can know all there is to know about anything... much less human emotions.

Can one person love more than one person at a time? Hell, Yes! I often equate this to having pets or children. Does loving a 2nd or 3rd child or animal make you love the first one any less? The tricky part comes from having to juggle the emotions of those other adult humans. As one sibling is frequently jealous of a parent's love and attention toward another sibling, so is it natural for one loved partner to be jealous of another... therefore, threesomes rarely work.

i admire Your words of sensitivity MsStarlett. Loving more then one person can have a different meaning for a sub as to what it can have to a D. It is my belief that a sub should only be devoted to the One Mistress. During the time that we are apart with my Mistress somehow i got in contact with a local Mistress. i felt very much attracted to the local Girl but i also felt that i would be doing a disservice to the one that had found me the first place and has been my mentor, so i fought it hard within me to not get involved. i still need the local Girls friendship but, (and any other local Girls are welcomed.... chuckles). My Mistress saw the need for me to be closer to humans so she released me, but i still have the need to be close to Her and if i had to chose i would always chose Her again..

Thank you so much for the advises .
I was thinking about this question , because I consider the charms ... music ...breath of the Mistress... as a hundreds and thousands of times stronger than any other possable life-making partner.
I mean Octavia can be beautiful , pleasant to look at , but she will continue to be Octavia , but only Cleopatra can bring the taste , fire ,sweetness , colors to your life...

I noticed it once with my understanding and search for the beauty , when I was communicating with the two women at the same time .
One was extremely beautiful . I would say my original , considering the outward beauty. But Octavia.
The other one was not different by outward appearance from the others - but Cleopatra !
Just two meetings with her - and I did not know what is going on with me , I have got possesed by the snake.
It was like a fortunes pedagogics , years of searching the beauty ideal and eventually to come to the conclusion that
Real beauty , real love ( of course I do not mean volunteer acts of will , when the family must work together for love ) I mean that according to my personality , and the experience of my personality ,I discovered that the 'snake' is made for me , the 'snake' fits me more than dove , lamb or any other bird. I mean the snake is my unhappiness but at the same time only the snake will make me happy.

I don't know.
I think I can be wrong.
Because when we talk about love ...
we can not include cheating hotwife , the cuckolding wife , her treatment of you which makes you equal with ' corridor carpet' .... I think the love is only possible when we take off our slaves and Mistress clothes some times and live most of time a straight life, right ?
Or may be its better to say that , we dressing up in our slaves and Mistress clothes just some times if we really want to make love possible ?

I find that in this arena, people are not sticking around long enough for anything to develop... let alone love... Maybe one day I will find it all wrapped up in a Christmas box... until then...

I think a lot of it is luck in finding the right person, same as in searching for someone to love/be loved by in a vanilla relationship.

Some people go their entire lives without finding that person; other people have to search for years.

It's kind of unfair that something so seemingly vital as love can be so hard to find!

Wanting to fall in love with your Mistress is the same as wanting to fll in love with anyone else. There are always risks. Add to it the potential for it altering your relationship with a Mistress. And you need to be prepared, as the others have said, that she may not love you back.

I am very new to the life style and i did fall in love with my mistress, and i told her outright my feelings. she told me that she did love me to but NOT in that same way. now that it has been a month or so from that time i now realise my feelings were most likely coming from my emotions about finally finding my true self, and my gratitude to her for helping me! me mistress is in love with another man who i also know and have become friends with outside the D/s world. i respect them both very much, and everyday i do my best to serve! somedays i will see them kissing or holding eachother and it does hurt, but i know that since i do love her... her happiness is the most important thing in the world to me! the love that her and her man share makes her very happy!!!! so i will continue doing everything i can for the both of them!
you cant help WHO you fall in love with, or if they will love you back. just do your best to assure her happiness- because that is what love is all about!

You also have given me good advices GT and i didn't accuse You of anything. Maybe i miss read Your original post about (controlling our feelings) in such a way before we explore that the person is worth of doing so. Wasting our time with someone that is not worth doing so can take valuable time from a person that we may pursue that is worth the effort. Get off Your high horse now Nordic Amazon... (OHH!!! I did with all my heart.
She said she did too.
Then 5 years later she left me for a female sub.

It's crushing to have your Goddess abandon you to the wolves.
It's like thinking you are in the service of Aphrodite only to discover she's Shiva.

That being said, if given the opportunity, I could never say no to her and would do it again.

i am very sorry for that happening sub, but how did the abandoning happen? Did she just leave you? or did she ask you to join a poly. Did you folks know about Her bisexual needs? There must be some reason for that to happen. i find it hard for people to just abandon others without some explanation. Maybe you where not in a position to compromise with Her needs. Take care sub and always look on the other side of the equation. There is a balance on all matters on which some of us are not willing or have not the ability to measure up. i don't want to be critical boy but it always feels better to see the real reasons of failure even if you decide to continue with the way you chose and let your heart come to terms with what has happened.

I highly recommend falling in love with your Dominant. I do not believe that loving someone makes you vulnerable. Loving someone should not be dependant on whether or not that person loves you or not. Living in fear that someone may not return your love is what gives another person power over you. If one can love whole-heartedly without expectation of another loving them ... well, that is truly freedom.

How can anyone argue against love? Not the fear of it, or the pain of losing it, but the actual love itself?

There is nothing wrong with hoping a love will develop. It helps you to know what you want out of a potential dynamic. That doesn't mean it is going to happen or it's not going to happen. Maybe knowing that hope will help you to define what it is that you search for. It means that certain types of Dommes are better suited to your needs than others.

i don't consider myself proud of what i did MadameCris but my current situation does not allow me to leave home. Not when my house is up for sale and i have just started on a new job. i respect You and my feelings for You will always be of the highest regard. i did everything i could from my behalf to make things possible for us to meet. Including paying Your air fares and hosting You on my expense for 3 weeks with all the best i could afford. Unfortunetly from a single guy having to get into a family with 3 kids and a husband around would be quite a change for me.
