Hunting and fishing are a big deal here. I still love to fish, and I go every chance I get. But I haven't hunted in many years. It's just a pain in the ass now a days. You have to generally join a bunch of other hunters in a lease for land to hunt on. No one allows you to hunt on their land for free anymore. I never was a deer hunter, so I never had to mess with tags. Squirrel, rabbits, and various fowl are great to hunt but it's just not worth all the effort to me.

Ready for this one? OK, New Mexico has 3 of 5 species of turkey, oryx, javalina, whitetail/mule deer, and the largest elk herds in north america, plus multitues of other species of critters to kill, unfortunately the last grizzly was killed in the state back in 1930's. Fishing, well, salmon, trout, bass, theres also a mutiltude of fishies here too, since we are the 5th largest state, and game is plentiful, there is also the Rio Grande wildlife corridore, and wildlife rufuge, lots of migratory birds. We are also 5th in water in the state. Was reading in my NRA hunter mag that this was happening.

In 1970 there were no wild turkey left in NY state. The state bought some and paid farmer's around the state to raise them. A friend's father was one of those farmers. Today they are in very healthy numbers but still rather sneaky in their habits. The only place I know to always find them is in the horse's paddock, where they pick up loose grain. And we don't allow hunting near the horses.

Turkey in the wild are pretty sneaky except during mating season when the toms put on their shows for the hens.

Once it warms up I get out fishing at least over 100 times. I am a God. It's true...I am a lakefront icon. I spend way to much money and time pursuing this addiction. I have yet to figure out a way to garnish some pussy from this hobby of mine. Which sickens me.
