I absolutely love to go "shroomin", but the last couple of years I have gotten a terrible reaction to tick bites. I have scars from the little buggers. I've duct taped the legs of my jeans, used good bug repellant - they are just thick around here. Anyone have any good advice on tick repellant. I swear, I'm about to use some of the dog's Frontline!

I wear long sleeves and LOTS of DEET. Then as soon as I come home I strip, toss the clothes in the washer, brush my hair, and shower.

Gamers use the little bags to hold dice. Go to L.L.Bean.com and check out their catalogues for hunting and fishing. They make clothing with insect repellent woven into the cloth. ~FR~ The decline in hunting is also having an impact on the animal population. Hunting helps to thin the herds. Many states are seeing smaller game, disease and hunger from over population. The animal rights people must be happy though, even if the animals are suffering.

OK, update!! I found about 3 pounds of morels in the last couple of days. I doused myself in some heavy duty DEET (10 hour, 100% stuff) before heading into the woods. I stripped, showered and washed my 'shrooming clothes immediately upon my return to the house. I found several ticks crawling, but none biting at this time...and STILL have about a thousand tick bites all over the back of my legs and lower back. I think they like my toxic blood. And, I am really, really allergic to the little bastards.
