Hi ... my name is Karin... i am a 62 year old woman and i have just been insulted on this website. I received a message from a man in Germany who calls himself a gorean Master. This oaf tells me blundly ...i am too old to be a slave... I wonder what preception this man has, what a slave is? I felt very insulted, angry and very hurt by this... So much so that i reported his message... may be it would be a healthy exercise to throw this up for a general discussion... I might not fit the 'dancing girl image any more and as a gorean slave would live out my life in misery in a medieval kitchen or stoking fires so that 'gorean' [masters] could warm there smelly feet on it... Talking about fantasy world...I live and let live and leave the 'goreans' to their fantasies. for me the lifestyle is very real ... i was owned by a wonderful Master for 2 years...
He died suddenly...He died suddenly.. I hope to find a Master again, but if people like this jerk are the 'Masters' that reside here... I gladly leave the lifestyle.

I'm sorry some jerkoff felt the need to insult you without provocation.
I think a lot of people here have had bitter losers insult them for one reason or another; my insults come in many forms, but such is life. You absolutely need thick skin when dealing with some people, especially on the net where they are afforded anonymity for their cowardly behavior.
As long as we live, we are not too old to do it on our terms, so pay no attention to the insensitive ass, and welcome to the boards.

Hello, sorry that some jerk was insensitive to you on CM. I agree with most of what has been said by the other posters to this thread. Please do not let one bad experience deter you from the place that you would like to have in some DOMs home and heart.

Age is just a number. A woman of any age can be a truly glorious creature and a woman with experience who knows herself and what she wants.. even more so. Don't let anyone ever tell you differently :)

i've been thinking about this, and to give a more serious answer ... isn't submission mainly in the mind and the heart? Not in your ability to kneel or how fast you can move.

Age would play a part in that the skin doesn't heal so well, flexibility is compromised etc. But a "good" Dom would be aware of that and take it into consideration.

we all get older sooner or later :)

Sometimes it can be painful to hear the comments of those who have decided not to like you. But why bother giving them the satisfaction of getting a rise out of you? Are they worth your time? Are they worth your effort? Are they really worth getting worked up about? Don't let someone win by poking and prodding until you feel the need to poke back. You may be giving them the attention they desire.

And just to note... there are some that consider themselves of the Gorean way of life who do so honorably and without malice. Though their way of life is not mine I see no reason to call it a mere fantasy. They've every right to live their lives as happily as you would hope to live yours.

A Gorean Master? Not in my book, just a wanna be.

Anyway lass, age is of no importance. I have a friend in the States who is over 65, has severe arthritis and serves her Mistress (a Gorean Free Woman) well. There is never any need for us "old farts" to retire because the crass ijits think we are of no value. It is of any value lass, I've been told several times by so called sub/slaves that I'm far too old at 60 to think about owning another kajira.... let's give them the finger and prove them wrong.

While it is unfortunate you got this kind of note - you might really want to learn how to let this stuff roll off your back. Honestly, there is no reason for a message on the 'net from a total stranger you aren't involved with to cause you this kind of stress of upset.

Emails that are sent for the sole purpose of harassment are indeed unfortunately.

It might be the first one you get, but it won't be the last one if you use online to meet others. It's unfortunate, but it's also a fact.

Of the emails I get, maybe one in 10 is a sincere inquiry; most are just "trolls" and yes, occasionally I get "hate mail" out of the blue. Since I updated my profile to indicate I am only looking for part time (I'm in college full time and that is my priority), I've gotten a few emails calling me a fake because of that LOL...apparently having a realistic view of what you can commit to is an issue to some.

Now, the question is - how much does it matter to me?

If someone truly has an issue with something I've said in a post or in my profile, I'll listen and weigh carefully, if it's an honest discussion over difference of opinions. (There's a few others around here that should really listen to what is being said to them rather than flying off the handle if someone dares disagree with them).

If it's sent just to be rude for the sake of being a jerk? Well. It's coming from someone who has revealed himself early on to be a jerk, and it's deleted accordingly.

The bottom line is that you can't be online and talk to the "good ones" if you aren't willing to also deal with the jerks who also use online. That's a decision YOU have to make.

I'm a Karen too, and no spring chicken at age 58 just beginning to learn about this lifestyle. It doesn't matter what some punk idiot says about our choices in life. Whoever it is has a lot of growing up to do. Any Master who has one of us in His service will be one fortunate Master.

kasiani firstly let me tell you that from your picture you look far younger than your actual age and that you are werry pretty. Secondly age realy is not that inportant, age is only a number, how may times you have decorated a christmas three and celebrated your birthday. The number is meaningless, it is how you act that is inportant, you seam young to me, and it is more and more common thankfully for pepole your age to day to be young, some just deside oh I am close to retirement now I am old, I will sit around knitting and brewing tea and be the stereotypical grandmother all day, but this simply is not nessesary, you can be as young as you want to, and a Master would be lucky to get you.

Now as for Goreans, I was in a chatroom and one of them kept calling me slut and demanded i call him Master, i politly told him i was there to learn and was not a Gorean slave and would not call him so as it is a personal title to me, and he insulted me and tossed me out of the chat room, when meeting pepole like that, or pepole like the idiot that wrote to you, it is easy to get the wrong impression of the Goreans, most are kind, inteligent pepole, living their own live not wannabe bullies like this one.

Ofcourse you will find pepole that thinks you are to old, just like i will meet pepole that think i am to pale, or dont apriciate my strange taste of dress, you will find pepole that like thin pepole, that like fat pepole, that like young and old, black and white any form of pepole best, but that is what is best for them not as a general. So i wish you the best of luck, dont let anyone pull you down.

First, I think that age is relative -- what is too old for one person, is too young for another. It is also a matter of self-perception.

Second, I think it is always rude to just write to people to insult them -- that's simple etiquette and being polite.

Third I'd hardly call the people on this board the model of all masters or mistresses. We are each models of ourselves and nothing more.

Over the years I’ve had my share of hate mail from not only this life style but from the pagan one too. I learned something years ago that works for me:

No one can hurt you unless you give him or her permission to.

I.e. if you chose to disregard such mail, the senders are just whistling in the dark. Most are bitter little people who resent others for getting on, being successful or just being popular. Keep you chin up lass, you’ll find more friends here that wankers.
