Many people in this lifestyle follow the acronym s.s.c. Which means safe, sane & consentual.
i feel that at some point in your relationship there may come a time when one or more of
those might be tested and even extended beyond necessity. This is an example that
happened recently between Master and i.
Master and i were in bed together after a lovely session of play.  He had His hands around
my neck lovingly speaking to me. The conversation going as follows.
Him: Who do you belong to girl?
me: You, Master.
Him: What is your purpose?
me: to obey You and to serve You.
Him: How do My nails feel across your skin?
me: like a knife Master.
Him: Would you let me take a knife and cut you girl?
me: Yes Master.
Him: Is that something that is sane?
me: No Master.
Him: Is it something that is safe girl?
me: Yes Master.
Him: Why girl?
me: Master, girl knows you wouldnt do anything that You would think would harm her and
that is why at times i am not sane when it comes to You.
Him: Very good girl.

There are many people who feel RACK is closer to reality than SSC.

*I personally cant stand all the acronyms, I just umm dont do anything too stupid.

And why isnt having a knife cutting you sane? I guess it depends on your definition of sanity doesnt it

I agree cali..RACK is the only real way for me to participate in bdsm. I don't enjoy it if it isn't edgy.

Sane is an English word meaning "of sound mind"

What about that conversation/choices isn't sane? We just don't all make the same choices.

Sorry, didn't mean to copy your thought. Guess I didn't read far enough, or we were both typing at the same time.

I am posting more to remind me where to find this to show My Love when she returns. She has said similar things to me. I know she has her doubts about if this is actually sane, but seeing it from another may well help her settle within herself.

But I will add, This is fucking brilliant.

Ok, good.  I'm glad someone else appreciates the sentiment expressed in the op cuz, like, after reading the other posts, I was, like, thinking maybe I was crazy.

LOL good idea,

Personally I dont think that its insane to want that, and I think the idea that it is reminds me of the silly idea that its all so extreme and on the edge.

Would I let someone cut me? -Yup,
Is that sane? - Yup
Why? - Because its hot, because it shows trust and adds to the relationship.

The title of this thread makes sense, yeah letting someone cut you DOES show trust, you wouldnt just let anyone do it, but its nothing to do with insanity, it would be insanity to go and ask a random stranger on the street if he felt like cutting you up, if you handed him the blade and pulled your shirt up in the street, yeah that may be considered a bit insane, but when you trust them? no its calculated risk which is why Cali mentioned RACK.

Does that mean I can't count on someone coming up to me on the street, pulling up their shirt and asking me to cut them?
*sob*
I never get to have any fun.

I am Telling you all, You need to follow my Phrase it's just hard to Chant at Play Parties

KWYADACTGDB. (Qui-Add-Act-Gee-Deb)

Which means

Know What You Are Doing And Close The God Damned Blinds

Basically here it means you are an adult you should know what you are doing and if you don't want other people to comment about what you do then close the god damned blinds.

Now I hope we will all be wearing T-Shirts with this new phrase soon

As Always

Steel

Another acronym? Oh, my god... my head is going to split!!
I'm still trying to figure out the common ones everyone uses here and you have to go and make more?
Where's the aspirin?

BTW, I liked it. I'm just never going to be able to say it.

No if you don't have an Acronym how can you maintan the Pompas Arrogance at play parties??

Look SSC and RACK are both mental failsafes to give false senses of security that say what I am doing is OKAY when as a general rule what you are doing can cause serious problems if something goes wrong and in some cases it is used as a way to make believe that what we are doing is Legal in Nature when in relaity very little of what we do is Legal.

I say Stick with Common Sense but as we see from one of my other threads Common Sense is anything but common.

Steel
