Actually, given the look in his eyes just prior to impact I think he was daring me, hoping I would fly my little speed buggy off into the deep ditch on either side instead. So he could laugh at me.

This is the second deer I've hit and both times I've been lucky to have seen them and only caught them a glancing blow. I do so much driving that I've hit more wildlife than I can remember. The wild turkey was the loudest thud, they are BIG birds! The racoon did the most damage oddly enough. But the pheasant scared me the most. I never saw it fly up out of the ditch. I was just driving along and there was a thud and an explosion of feathers from the front end of my 4wheel drive truck.

Driving through the northwoods of Wisconsin I have been the method of disposal for many of God's creatures....Perhaps there is a game show in the works where you would try to determine the species by the thud it makes.

I want to get a bridge plank to bolt onto the front end of my truck, instead of a chrome bumper. I am afraid that cell phone talking socker mom's in their, lane wandering, mini vans may come to fear me. Not to mention the traveling salesmen that seem to feel they own the passing lane and everyone should drive the speed they determine is proper. Unfortunately the highway patrol would more than likely, cut my road clearing fun, short.....

We are all very warped. A bout of self-congratulation is in order :-) .

Bridge plank?  Wimpy lesbian!  A rocket launcher.  So many times on that drive on I-94 from Madison to the Twin Cities I've thought "if I had a rocket launcher . . ."

Yes, I agree. Besides being warped, I seem to enjoy the company of other warped individuals. Given the nature of our discussions and propensity for discussing destruction of various kinds........the none warped should be concerned.

You go searching for a rocket launcher and I will go searching for a bridge plank. We shall see who gets their weapon of mass destruction, on the road, and destroying first!

Wimpy my ass!...................Sir

Last Fall, buddies of mine were driving up to Sheboygan, Wi. from the Chi when a deer, just south of Sheboygan, decided to introduce itself to the drivers side window of my friend's car. The car was going around sixty when the head of the deer came careening through through the driver's window and was virtually pinned against his chest. The two of my buddies in the car were freaked out. Upon stopping, the deer actually managed to stagger back into the woods. Leaving my friends ample time to clean out their drawers. Pussies.

I wish I could send you a video that was sent to me of a deer meeting a race car. I was wondering if the driver of the race car had to clean out his fire suit.

Actually, I think I made folks uncomfortable, though, and I didn't want to do that.

They're big boys and girls, woman, they can flip the channel. It's topics like yours that let us delve below the superficial and reveal parts of ourselves we don't often share.

I guess my deal with it is that it seems antithetical to my OP to off put folks and perhaps sort of drive the (inadvertantly) to assumption, when I wanted to investigate that.
