Status: offline 		I've certainly been confronted with my share of "fakes," both Dominant and submissive.  However, I personally feel that you shouldn't be quite so quick to judge.  The things you accuse these Doms of are perfectly acceptable in some dynamics of the lifestyle.  I am a slave, and if Master wants to use me for pleasure without giving me any in return, I not only accept but appreciate that.  I keep myself fit and beautiful so that he can live in an aesthetic environment, and I am available for him always.  I adore boosting his ego, though he has few insecurities of his own.  This doesn't make him a bad person.  He is simply a very dominant person. 

Yes, there are many assholes out there who don't care about their subs.  Usually they're abusive, or would be if someone was stupid enough to submit to them.  But I have to humbly disagree with the characteristics you listed as surefire signs that a Dom is "fake" or bad.

OP - some of us subs happen to like being sex toys. Granted there are some men out there claiming to be doms who do not have the characteristics I would like to see in my Dom. That doesn't mean they aren't compatible with some other sub. (Now, I may wonder about the intelligence of those subs, but that's just my opinion, and I would never 'wonder' about that in a public forum.)

Status: offline 		When I read the OP I sympathized with "her" plight since I stopped looking for a Dom for this very reason.  My previous profile clearly stated that I was not looking for a purely sexual relationship and I posted journal entries stating my philosophy about what I felt I had to offer and what I expected from a Dom.  Yes, I actually expected something in return (responsibility and appreciation on his part were the main things). 

I'd get e-mails from "Doms" (note the "", that means they didn't fit the definition of what I'd clearly stated I was looking for, but were trying to pretend they did) and I'd ask if they'd read my journal entries.  We'd chat, and then we'd meet, and they'd inevitably give me those cliche' lines about "If you were really submissive you'd ......... " mostly because I'd state upfront that bondage was a temporary hard limit in private play or because I would refuse to immediately go to the nearest motel so I could demonstrate my oral skills.

Then I noted the name of the OP and clicked on "his" profile and it didn't give any details, but I have to wonder why a male Dominant would post this.  Whatever your reason, I suppose I qualify as someone who got burned since I wasted my time chatting with and meeting those posers.

You might be surprized at how many people (I have dealt with a few) actually ONLY want the Sexual Connection. It has nothing to do with DOM's who "Don't have a clue" It has more to do with Supply and Demand.

If there are subs out there who want only to be used as sexual objects then there has to be Dom's who are willing to be the pweson to use them.

The Problem here is the Demand of the subs and the Supply of the Doms. More Doms WANTING these sexual partners and few subs WANTING to be sex toys.

Try not to knock someone kink. No matter how silly it may sound to you there are people out there where this is a MEANINGTFUL way of life for them.

I don't happen to be one of them, but I know some and they are anything BUT clueless.

I'm curious as to how you arrived at the conclusion that half the doms here don't have a clue. Did you pose as a woman and interview all the doms to determine this percentage? What is the criteria you use to make the determination? When did you begin the study and are you going to share the data? Do you thinks it feasible to expect that everyone should just take your word for it given that you've been on the site a whole three weeks and have exactly one post to your name? Are you going to answer any of these questions or will you tuck tail and run away since you made such a wonderful first impression?

 but to answer the question, no, I've never been burned by 'that' type of dom.

I started out pretty clueless and thankfully some nice people took some mercy on me to help me learn and things worked out ok.  Hopefully people that we make a value judgement on today wont be at the same place but better tommorrow. 

Just a thought.....

For some it means someone who uses the tools/toys on someone else.
For others it means the person in total control of the relationship.
Or a combination or something different entirely.
Just like in all other relationships you have to define what you mean by certain words.
I think we all have expectations of people and often they don't live up to our expectations. That doesn't make them bad people. Or not deserving of the words they use about themselves. Someone else might think they are exactly what they think a Dom/me should be.

Your post has me curious...when you were starting out on here, did you come on with your very first post and pontificate about how half of the other dominants are users?  That half of the other dominants on here just care about sex and stroking of their ego and nothing about their submissives?  The post by the OP almost invites being beaten up verbally by those of us on here who just might feel a tad insulted by being lumped into this category or as being classed in the 50% who don't do the things the OP states simply because he doesn't know us.
