I see where your coming from.  You of course have the right to express your opinion.

What my point is that what was being said was that persons opinion and we can of course disagree with it.  But what I see happen alot of beating up on a person after the point of correction has been made and iluminated for everyone else. 

I dont see that helpfull but destructive.  A little mercy might go a long way as well. 

As for what you originally asked no I didnt act like I knew it all. But I did keep up a face of confidence when I in fact did not know fully what I was doing.   I got my ass kicked emotionaly and deservedly.  Then I  found others that helped me learn from my mistakes.  Those people made the bdsm world a postive force in my life and later for others.

If someone is so clueless as to wander in somewhere, tell everyone there, "half of you people are assholes" and that's it... what do you expect?  Do you expect people to walk up to the guy and say, "hey, let me educate you a little".  No.  You expect people to whip his ass with a pool cue.  The least he could have done was put a little thought into it and present a convincing argument. 

I think this one got off easy.

The OP is being "beaten up on" because essetially he started it. He did not ose an opinion that was based on anything and could inspire actual though. He posted a "Look at how much better I am than all those posers out there that know nothing" thread that was meant to be inflammatory. And he got exactly what he wanted. Have you noticed his marked lack of return to his own thread?
AS a newcomer, if you start a post that is your opinion and then opening it up for actual conversation is one thing. But as a Dom, I have a feeling he has very little contact with otehr Doms aside from reading a few profiles and he decided to pass judgement on what he has decided is the right and wrong way to be.

Honestly, I thought most of the replies were very tame, you have not SEEN some of the flame wars begun in these forums between us older hats sometimes.

Perhaps some have mistaken my comments with the idea that I am suggesting I am better than everyone. I should have stated a little more context. I have a friend whom is sub. Her DOM basically dumped her because she wasn't a complete rag doll in all respects. She was getting a little busy with school etc trying to get her career going and could no longer be his little sex toy on a moments notice. So rather than respecting her need to pursue her dreams he just got up and left. I guess I was upset because I've been telling her for a year or so that hes the type of DOM to throw away a sub if she has any needs of her own.

Understandable that you were upset-but it would have saved grief if you said that to begin with.

Look guy-a lot of people get into this for the wrong reasons. A lot of Doms are out there with a childish "Oedipus Rex" complex.

They want a mommy to take care of them, and fuck her too. Don't despair-there are still grown men out there.

And, well, you know more about the situation than i do, OP; although less than your subbie friend knows.
If he led her to belive that they had a relationship that could withstand the pressures of real life, when all along he was just stringing her along for free sex, that's one thing.She has the right to adequate information to base her decisions on.
If they knew all along that they were meeting for playtime, and if either of them had real life get in the way, it would have to end; well, that's a different colored horse all together.

i don't have a spellchecker on my browser. the browser I use is supposed to be equipped with one, but i've used this browser on three different computers now, downloading it each time, and never gotten the spell checker to work.
http://www.spellcheck.net/ is a beautiful thing. When I come to a word not in their dickbook that i need to check, i cut it and use google, also a very handy spell checker, if you are just checking one word.
