Question, on your other post you have just mentioned your wife and the age differance, also 16 years your senior, so when you say you 'met a woman' did you mean your wife? and if so are you really not believing her over something so trivial?

I think it certainly can be true for lots of reasons - I always dreamed of one day owning an adult store that actually welcomed people. You know, one that is located in a well lit location. One where the merchandise is marketed to cater to first-timers, friendly staff, nice music etc etc....

Maybe there actually is an adult store like this but I've never been to one. Anyway, I think if there were more stores like the one in my dream some people wouldn't be intimidated to step in and browse. tinkerbelle3

We have such a store in Ann Arbor. http://www.s3safesexstore.com/

It's right down the street from the college and it promotes condoms (has a whole half a wall of them) and maybe that's why it's been able to stay in business for as long as it has. A youngish woman is always there though I don't know if she's the owner, friendly and always asks people if she can explain anything to them. She's also quite knowlegeable about the products (for anyone who's interested-- the CDC or whichever alphabet soup decided that spermacide is not any more effective then regular condoms and most condom manufactures are going to stop making spermicide condoms).

They have a limited display of toys, but some on the kink side and just a hint of bondage equipment.

Finding an adult store in a well lit, friendly, safe neighborhood is a difficult thing. Most towns do not want to acknowlege that people have sexual desires. All of ours are tucked away into back rooms of video stores in the lower income parts of town, or waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out on the outskirts of nowhere.

My parents have never been to a sex store. My mom reminds me of that fact about every timw we drive past them in Vegas. I have other friends who never have, and some who would die at the mere suggestion that they do it...
So, why would someone's age have anything to do with their believabilty? Some people just have no interest in physically going into a store like that.

Are you saying that this is the only woman you have ever met who said she hadn't been to an Adult Store before? All of the other woman you have known have all been to an Adult Store? In fact, i would think that it is more common than not, that a 60 year old hasn't been to an Adult Store.

The only reason that i have been to sex shops/adult book stores/adult theaters, etc. is because men have made me go there with them. When i was 20 years old and living in Germany with my exhusband (before we were married), he took me to sex shops all the time. It was very humiliating for me and made me feel 'dirty' (but, also very turned-on), mainly because i would be the only female in the place, except for the girl working the cash register and the women working down the hall in the private booths, which he also took me into. He also took me into the adult movie theater, in the back of the store, where the sounds of men slapping their meat in the seats around me made more noise than the movie did. This was back in the mid '70s and early '80s, before the widespread availability of VCRs and pay-per-view cable TV porn, and, of course before PCs and the internet, so there wasn't much opportunity, outside of 8mm movies, to watch porn at home. You pretty much had to go someplace to see it.

He also took me to "live sex shows", which were actually simulated, and had me walk with him along "the wall", the red light district, in the old part of Nuernberg, where the prostitutes sit naked in the windows facing the street.

Back in the States, he took me to strip clubs in NJ and "tittie bars" in Fayetteville, NC, where i had to sit up front and put dollars in the dancers g-strings. One Dominant, i was involved with, later on, took me to a very high dollar "fetish boutique" in Georgetown, DC and my current Master has taken me to a few "adult toy stores" in Charlotte, NC. With the except of the "festish boutique" in G'town, where there were as many women as men shopping, i never saw another woman in any of these places, other than the ones working there.

So, i have no problem believing that there is a 60 year old woman who has never been inside an Adult Store.

It is very possible, even probable in some areas of the country/world.
