I met a woman who was 16 years my senior one day and we went to The D/s Toy SHop here in CT, well when we did she told me she had never been to one in her life!
 
Should I have believed this and is it possible a woman 60 years old could not have been in an Adult Store before?

I'm 53 and I've never been to one. So yeah, why not believe her. Why assume she's lying to you, unless of course she called the clerk by name.

Warning people if you go to CT dont' drink the water. Bill a vast majority of women or men never go to an adult store. Such is life.

 I've only been in one. It was gross. Hugely obese man behind the counter literally followed me around and kept licking his lips. Why bother going to an actual store when you can so easily shop online? The nearest adult store to me is um, probably over 30 miles away. My laptop is less than a foot away lol.

why is it so hard to believe that someone who is 60 has never been to a toy store? It's possible that someone else has been the one to buy the toys.

A lot of people just mail order-or have thier lovers do the shopping. Adult stores tend to be cheesy.

Best adult store chain I've been in is Pricillas they're all over the south. (Spelling may be wrong). They are well lit, warm welcoming places. And clean.

....or tiny. The toy store nearest me has almost no stock. I haven't been able to find what i want there. The best toy store is too far for me to make the trip on a regular basis. Good point Leatherist!

Let's see....when she was 60 you must have been 44.  You are now 51 so the meeting happened 7 years ago.  She must have made a big impression on you for you to still be pondering the meeting for so many years. 

And yes....many women, in fact to my knowledge most women have never ever been to an adult store.

I made myself go into one when I was 45.  But I am a freak for forcing myself to go beyond my comfort.  I would say more women of my age have not.
It isn't surprising.

Yup, I have taken MANY KINKY people to thier first Adult Book and Toy stores as I used to live in Vegas and there were many.

Truth be told lots of people are afraid they will look like miscreants in them.

FUNNY STORY.

I met my Highschool English Teacher in one once and she was Buying a Dildo... A BIG ONE. We actually talked about it and I will never forget how comfortable she was with the whole thing. I think being okay with your sexuality is VERY Important.

i used to work in Pulse and Cocktails (adult shop) & my friend who is 52 asked me to go in with her as she wouldnt go alone cos she felt too uncomfortable, so yes, i can believe easily that a woman of sixty may have never been to one.

i'm turning 39 in 3 weeks and have never been inside an Adult toy/lingerie shop or club before. why? i guess it stems from how i was raised (in a strict religious household).

so it's not nice to belittle and make fun of a woman who hasn't ventured inside what seems normal for you.

Ummm.... yeah. I would be particularly inclined to believe that an older woman hadn't entered one. I'm sure my mother would never be caught dead in one because of the culture she grew up in where I have no problem. Why shouldn't you believe her? Is this really that big a deal anyway?
