General question to all those who think Jane Fonda is a treacherous witch. Why don't you think draught dodger Bush deserves as much vitriol, especially now when he's proved very good at sending other young men to fight and die for their country, something he was too chicken to do himself. At least Jane Fonda put herself in the firing line.

I carnt believe MissSCD's post is true. I'd rather believe my hair is genuine. Just to add: there was virtual world wide opposition to the antics of Nixon and his crew in Vietnam. Very very violent demos. took place almost every where. Eventually such public indignation was expressed in the US as well. Did not Nixon blatently lie about bombing Cambodia. ?

I used to be into Jane Fonda and her work outs, but when I found out the entire story of what went down that day, I was sick. *Now, it is up to folks in general to keep that story alive so that we do not forget. Bush is very good at sending other people to die for their country, something he avoided. I don't think being on the front line in Texas is the same as being on the front line in Iraq.

I am sure you saw the images of the war yourself, innocent civilians were getting slaughtered. I have heard many stories of what Fonda was supposed to have done but never seen any evidence of what she actually did. I notice you haven't mentioned Bush's valiant service on the front line in a bar in Texas and his own unwillingness to fight but his eagerness to send other young men to die for his political career.

I served in the 80s with men who served 3 terms of duty during the Vietnam war. Their word to me beats anything you can possibly dream up. His first purple heart was for injuries suffered in the fire on the Forestall which was an accident and not enemy action. His second purple heart was for the broken bones he got from his ejection seat...which could only occur from failure to follow ejection procedure. All of his "gallant hero" medals fail for lack of validation. It sure helps if your daddy and granddaddy are admirals. thompson
