I'm guessing that #5 has to be from Harvey (James Stewart as Elwood P. Dowd).

sapphirepleasure, it is!  Isn't it a wonderful film?  In looking up the exact quote, I was reminded that writer Mary Chase won a Pulizter prize, for the play.

You know we all must face
reality, Dowd, sooner or later.

ELWOOD - Uh huh - Well, I wrestled with
reality for thirty-five years, doctor, and I'm happy to state, I finally won out over it.

Mae!  Only, I'm unsure of which Mae West film - My Little Chickadee?  She says it to a masked intruder, in her room.

Ok maybe there is a differant title in the US, is it the one where spacey and his wife want a divorce, they have the theif come in to hide out then the mother is a nightmare asking for payments on the house etc?

The Ref - AKA Hostile Hostages
in some countries

now that that is settled...either ya'll picked some really obscure or some really old movies...maybe it is cause ya'll are really old *ducks and covers*

You know, in my memory, I can hear this speech spoken by a narrator in English but with some Asian dialect, once at the beginning and again, at the end.  It's been bothering me so, to almost remember, but I refuse to cheat and search for it.

Am I completely in the wilderness, with this? - Is it Teahouse of the August Moon?  If not, don't tell me what it is, yet.

(P.S. ~ and I thought the last word was, "bearable.")

Yay!

MadameMarque -> RE: Guess the movie........................... (4/8/2008 6:36:58 AM)

Is it, is it?  Yay!  My memory of the vast number of films I've seen remains.  Marlon Brando playing Japanese, in that - hah.  I loved the theme music for that film, did you?

angelikaJ -> RE: Guess the movie........................... (4/8/2008 7:30:51 AM)

yes, and the dialogue...

My guess is that you know the movie this quote came from: "While you wait you can read my column. It'll make minutes fly like hours." ...
let me give you another quote from the same movie/different character

"You are in a beehive, pal. Didn't you know? We are all busy little bees, full of stings, making honey day and night. Aren't we honey? "

angelikaJ -> RE: Guess the movie........................... (4/9/2008 5:19:55 PM)

same movie same character
"Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night!"

Phin -> RE: Guess the movie........................... (4/9/2008 6:58:23 PM)

1 Kneel before Zod

2 "You remember that Favorite game of yours?" "who's the better killer?" "Lets play"

3 How many fingers am I holding up in front of your eyes right now?
Three!
That's good. That's pretty good, considering that he's blind.

4 Everyday I wake up and it's still the present. The same, boring present. I don't think this "future" thing of yours exists

5 But it's going to be so much more moving when I strangle her on our wedding night.

angelikaJ -> RE: Guess the movie........................... (4/9/2008 7:20:19 PM)

1. Superman (dont remember which one)
2. Chronicles Of Riddick – while escaping prison and trying to get the shuttle as the sun rises. I loved that scene.
3. See No Evil, Hear No Evil (I couldn’t remember the name of the movie and had to google Wilder & Pryor to find it exactly)
4. Animated space adventure, you got me but, the same dude said they should kill his food first.
5. ???  What she said ^

-=Tank Girl=-
I admit that you could pretty much just take your brain out and leave it at the door before you watch Tank Girl.

...but, how could you not love a movie that Malcolm McDowell uses water torture on Lori Petty, promotes bestiality with kangaroos and has saving poor little Sam from being sold into prostitution as a main plot theme?  With music and soundtracks from Björk, Devo, Hole, Bush, Portishead, Veruca Salt, Ice-T, Isaac Hayes, Iggy Pop and any more, it was a fun movie watch and to listen too.

Cast
Lori Petty ...  Tank Girl
Naomi Watts ...  Jet Girl
Ann Cusack ...  Sub Girl (John's sister)
Ice-T ...  T-Saint
Malcolm McDowell ...  Kesslee
Iggy Pop ...  Rat Face

LadyPact -> RE: Guess the movie........................... (4/10/2008 4:37:53 AM)

Oh, this sounds like fun.....

1.  I'll have what she's having.

2.  This whole bunch of nothing, has really meant something.

3.  With great power, comes great responsibility.

4.  You have to learn to laugh.....  It's the path to true love.

5.  Life is a series of meetings and partings.  That is the way of it.

TysGalilah -> RE: Guess the movie........................... (4/10/2008 5:09:30 AM)
