Lusciouslips, but you're such a wonderfully loveable ditz. You do it so well, too. Better to be a damned good ditz than a lousy anything.

Intellectually there are a few here I find myself interested in. I've not had enough interaction to say I admire anyone, yet, for their intellect. But there are some who may get there as I get to know them better.

Yup.  And, quite literally for me as I'm given to intellectual crushes.

I have attention problems, so much of it is a matter of form rather than content.  The content has to be solid, but every word has to count for something.  I have a hard time wading through a morass of unnecessary words.  The one's who have really grabbed by the back of the neck are:

Noah
SimplyMichael
MasterFireMa'am

There's a lot of other's who's posts I always read 'cuz I'm pretty sure I'm gonna learn something.

They aren't idiots but I can't figure out how they have come to their perception of the world, I just assume its down to their own personal history. (yep, I do admire their intellect, even though it baffles me.)

I am terrified to make a list because I always leave someone out.  I will focus on the intellectual rather than any other aspect.

Definately Kittinsol, Ron, Noah, Aswad.........right off the top of my head.

Ditto. It's also difficult sorting out whether one admires someone's intellect on an objective level, or because we agree with most of what they say and with their outlook on life... but fuck it! I say, I admire people because their opinions ring true with me . Tigresse is definitely somebody I admire for her well-grounded, yet humourous, outlook on life. RealityLicks rocks; he's wry just like I like them, a fierce debater; thornhappy is another that springs to my airhead mind.

Most of the people whose intellects I either admire (and/or envy!) have already been mentioned, or have posted themselves on this thread - they know who they are :-) .

PS: Lordandmaster. Another unbeatable one.

HK, I know your intentions are good  and I appreciate the complimentary remark you made about me. However, I agree with Level on this one,  and pretty much the way he put it. I prefer to let my thoughts and feeling be shown in forum dialogues and in some private messages. I hope you take this in the spirit I intend it, dude.

LadyEllen, LaTigresse, Ron, Domiguy, Level, Aileen, DV,  most of the others already mentioned......GreedyTop, Kittensol, Gwyn......they all have the ability to cut thru the BS and call a spade a spade.....of course, they have all been responsible for the death of more than one keyboard also!

There are others, but my uncaffeinated mind is drawing a blank......or is that decaffeinated?

I'll stay off making a list ... those seem to come across as popularity contests at best, and "These people are really intellectual, they must be reading my posts." at worst.

I admire people that can engage in discussion without looking down on other posters. It's just too easy to call someone stupid, or a racist, or anti-semitic ... too convenient to insist that people can't understand you, or to project that you can somehow know their heart and mind, from a few words on a message board ... too deflectionist to cast doubt on someone by insinuating that they may be some long lost retired nickname, etc ...

Simply put ... just have something to say ... say it ... and spare everyone the nose in the air.

As an aside, its unfortunate that I fall short of my own standards a bit more than I would like.

I think on any boards people tend to focus on the posts from those who have made an impression on them, i'm no different in that respect and a few people stand out. I think they stand out b/c they check their egos at the door, they dont engage in sycophantic behaviours, and what they have to say makes me sit up and take notice, providing a different perspective I can relate to and even if I don't agree with their comments, they have provided invaluable insights:

Lady Ellen
Stella B
LA
Shaktisama
Aswad
Darcy and the.dark
Celtic Lord
Gwyn - she provides clarity of thought, cuts through the bullshit and all the while doing so, keeps herself (and us, the reader) in touch with the nice side of our humanity. She's a younger, kinkier, sassier version of Mother Theresa

Awwww...... Can I quote you on my resume? *chuckles* so many have so much to offer and so many wonderful insights. I love how the people on here make me think. Even sometimes scream in fustration.. at least it is a change from the ho hum daily.

*hugs*

Gwyn

I enjoy locking horns with caitlyn, it is fun and stimulating.

Yep, when you make lists you always forget people and tend to remember the last spat.
