That is self contradicting in that they supposedly know nothing but they know they know nothing therefore they know something.

Some certainty that is.

I've found the general intelligence level on CM to be much above average.

I agree. There are a lot of bright folks here. Sometimes I think, I ought to quit spending so much damn time online here.... but I love to laugh, and hear interesting and challenging ideas, and frankly, CM offers both in abundance, certainly moreso than the little town in which I live.

If I could go to Gary's Coffee shop, and engage several people in conversation about anal sex, Zimbabwe, industrial metal, and the state of youth in England, then CM would see much less of me.

And I won't make a list because there are too many in here that I enjoy debating with or, just reading.
And I always appreciate a good sense of humor!
Ok, so I'll mention a few; Mercnbeth, always well informed and concise.
Caitlyn, a good debater and she is very fair in her opinions.
Celtic Lord, very well informed and knowledgable.
Ron, humor *is* intellect.
Mz Mia, cuts to the chase!
Churro, always has interesting and fun threads.
Moderator 11, I once received an e-mail from her admonishing me about a post but there was no "gold boundry" around it. I asked her if it was really her. Her reply; "I'm working undercover!"
And LadyE always has interesting threads.
She and KittinSol want me bad though.
That's only a few.

Let me make an idiot of myself for Marc2b's sake. At work in the process of many debates is the Socratic method where you make your opponent contradict themselves. In a previous post someone said they admired Noah's and Aswad's intellect and I more or less accused them (N & A) of employing the Socratic Method but never having the bottle to say what they believed so they could never be put under scrutiny themselves. At some point one has to stop disproving something and actually make a decision, no matter how fallable one might be, otherwise the human race would still be living in caves, very civil caves but still caves. Making a statement or a decision on anything puts one at the mercy of attack but its cowardice to remain on the sidelines and snipe without taking a stand on anything. I suppose to remain on the sidelines and snipe is a decision, no matter how gutless it is.

Meat, agreed about the Socratic method of "argueing."
If you're going to have beliefs then have them!
Nothing worse than trying to debate something with a "PC" person who has no beliefs but will try to attack yours.

Hey there MC. I can't just whip out a concrete example, but I would think both Noah and Aswad have had firm convictions in conversation here. Hmm. Maybe Noah in the old "mentor" thread of a few months back..... or Aswad in some of the religious threads?

Put it on my bill, tulip..... now, more importantly, is this "miracle gum" sugar-free? Does it REALLY last almost as long as a Level Love Making session? I currently chew Orbit, and that shit goes dead in 20 minutes, tops.

Am i to take from the implications in your post that you last over three hours????  Stride is sugar-free, and it lasts for hours...now what's say you and i test it to make sure? Purely scientific, of course!

Three hours of "pumping"? No. Three hours of head to toe stimulation, caressing, pain, and sensation?  Surely.

Lab coats optional.

Existence itself is self contradictory. Reality is a paradox. The only thing that doesn’t change is the fact that everything changes. Knowing that you know nothing is not an end but a beginning. There is nothing wrong with having firm convictions or certainty that you know something so long as you are not afraid to question your own certainties and convictions. The firmest ground to stand upon is the well examined ground.

Perhaps that’s why I mystify some people. All of my convictions and certainties are subject to change without notice and I see nothing wrong with holding two seemingly contradictory beliefs. One size does not fit all. Consistency is hobgoblin of small minds.

Aye change is constant. People run around in circles and make the mistake of thinking they haven’t been anywhere because the place they are at is where they started.

I'll vote for ya just because you asked and therefor have enough gumption to deserve it. No one is worthy of anything they are not willing to ask for.

And damn... *I* made someones list? How the hell did that happen?  I only read the thread to see how many times MY favourite got nominated. She as yet has not.

My other vote goes to Calichick. How can someone who's consistant advice of get/give a blowjob, be NOT considered the wisest person in the world?
Cali... You fucking ROCK. On your knees!

*edited cuz I am wiitawded*
