Is it possible to be a good subbie, if i'm in a wheelchair?

metamorpha -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 12:17:19 AM)

Yes, sweetie, it is.  The most important thing is an openness of your mind and a willingness to submit.  A GOOD Mistress will work with you to bring out the best in you.

(From someone who has spent time in a wheelchair.)

MsHonor -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 2:23:58 AM)

Of course it is.  :-)

The most important parts of WIITWD take place in the space between your ears.

MissMorrigan -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 5:24:08 AM)

Absolutely! Having personal experience of someone in a wheelchair, I can say there was no limit to what we could achieve and did, frequently.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 5:36:00 AM)

The important part is that your wheelchair is not what you focus on. It is there, it must be accepted, but it should ot be dwelled upon. IT will only be a big deal if you make it one. I have had pets with all sorts of limitations physically. Those who dwelled on how much better they thought they could be doing IF they ddnt have X, Y or Z to contend with were always short lived. Those who thought about how happy they were making me by doing as I asked, and not worrying about what else they could do that I hadnt requested did well. REmember, when you are serving, you were selected for who you were and a good Dominant will be able to make the best of your abilities and get what he or she wants from the relatonship.

Good luck
DV

You're dang right it is.  Being a good submissive is about what's in your heart and how much you embrace your dominant's control over you.  It is about dedication, evolution, and adaptation.  Any domme worthy of a devoted submissive's submission will never let you limit yourself because of your wheelchair, but will instead help you reach a greater potential you never thought possible.  Good luck to you, my friend. Absolutely, yes.

LaMistressa -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 8:15:03 AM)

Yep, just like it is possible for a great Domme to be in a wheelchair. Person first, right?

hairslave -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 8:25:45 AM)

Thank you Ladies ! , for your kind words here. i am recovering from a stroke and have the same feelings and desires as i did before my stroke. Even though I am recovering ( slowly I will add ), i feel i still have a lot to offer and a lot to learn.
In this recovery, i think that even with my temporary disabilities . Wouldn’t it be an honor of a Femdom to have her submissive do tasks for Her, even though it would be easier to have done it for Her self?. And wouldn’t it be more of an honor to have Your submissive carry out commands, even though they are difficult for him to perform ?  Isn’t this part of BDSM ? Submission is from the heart as well stated in these post. Giving 110% is far better then 10%,. done well.

AllforFun -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 8:49:21 AM)

This is why I like submitting to women (besides the fact that im straight, lol). Hearts of gold all of them (or alot of them) and loins of fire to boot! WOOT!

decstorm37 -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 9:11:37 AM)

100% Yes you can.  Anything can be worked with.  It is just a matter of finding out what can and can not be done.

MladyHathor -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 9:46:37 AM)

by all means, it merely takes a Domina who knows how to work with this--My home does not lend itself to that as I have two stories, however, the kind of devotion I seek would--so it may take some time to find One but there is someone out there that would be nicely suited---

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 4:50:42 PM)

Of course!

thetammyjo -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 5:20:42 PM)

Everyone is basically saying "yes" to this OP so I thought I'd throw out a different response.

It entirely depends on finding a good match for you.

A physical disability is only one of many, many criteria that each and every one of us uses when we meet potential partners, try them out, and then decide whether or not to make a commitment.

If someone doesn't chose you it may have absolutely nothing to do the wheelchair or everything to do with the wheelchair or a small amount to do with the wheelchair -- it entirely depends on that person and you and how much you have in common and overlap in what you define as dominance and submission.

In all reality, and I'm not trying to be mean here just trying to be realistic and give you honest feedback, having any kind of physical or emotional issue will make it more difficult for you to find a dom or sub.

Most people could not handle the problems surviving my past created in me; most people couldn't handle Fox's -- we got lucky and got each other. I don't begrudge someone who says "I can never be with someone with X condition" because just like age, race, hair color, religion, etc it's all a matter of preference and finding an excellent match.

Don't you want to be with someone who is an excellent match for you? I know I do so if I had to go through a few dozen to find a good slave he was well worth it. If you have to try and try and try to find your match it will be well worth it though while you are going through that looking and trying it will feel very frustrating.

So, in general I'd say go with all the good advice anyone gets when they are looking for a partner but be aware that your wheelchair may require some extra care on your part in terms of finding munches or groups.

To share a personal story, one of the last munches I went to in the local community here was moved to a "bar" and I had issues with that decision myself but I wasn't on the steering committee so I went. Yeah, it limited the age of people and the smoking was a pain in the ass and then a new couple came whose female member was in a wheelchair. I felt like trash because damn this place was just bad all around for a munch. Guess how many others in that group seemed to care? I live with the only two who did and that might explain partly why we stopped attending local events.

So, submissionwheels, it will not be easy but it is possible. Good luck.

I'd gladly take a sub in a wheelchair, and hey, that could make for some creative rope bondage!  You should fill out your profile though, no one can learn much about you otherwise!  I had a submissive who had severe burn scars around his stomach/chest/back...his skin couldn't breathe well, so he got hot easily.  I turned up the a/c like crazy & kept fans on him & we had great times because he was a great guy :)

hopelesslyInvo -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/6/2008 8:33:26 PM)

i took this as being a practical joke like what was going on a few weeks ago, but if i'm mistaken i would also say of course it's 'possible'.  worst scenario is it would require a bit of 'thinking outside the box' of what D/s means, or at least means to them.

azropedntied -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/7/2008 2:22:52 AM)

Most often we hold the biggest doubt and hang ups  with in ourselves ,getting over that can be a huge step .To the poster you can see  thus far its a 100% Yes from the  people responding .These are honest responses so take that and  do not  limit yourself .If your not involved in your local bdsm community , do so and get out there .
Be open ,honest with whoever your doing any type of exchange with ,do tell any physical limitations , and trust me a creative Top chair or not shall know just what to do .
In the end remember the ole saying , Careful what you wish for , you just may get it [;)]
Best wishes ...

KindLadyGrey -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/7/2008 8:04:20 AM)

One of the most awesome Dominants I've ever met used a wheelchair and/or a prosthesis. His incredible personality makes you forget all about his physical disabilities. He has no issue whatsoever finding lovers and play partners. Total mack-daddy :)

If you are a fun and kind person to be around, people are going to want to be around you regardless of your physical appearance or disability. Everyone knows people who are ZOMG hot just because they are such incredible people, not because they look like models or bench 300lbs.

So be awesome. People will forget about your wheels and focus on you instead.

aviinterra -> RE: Wheelchairs (4/7/2008 8:07:19 AM)

Well, mine has CP and is on crutches.  I'd prefer a sub in a wheelchair who was bright, articulate, highly intelligent, creative and pleasing in personality and demeanor to one on two legs who was not very bright or not well focused on pleasing his owner rather than himself.

It really depends on the definition of a "good subbie".  Technically the answer is no, there is nothing stopping you from being a very good submissive.  You may not be able to meet the specific needs or the personal relationship criteria for every domme out there.  But then again, nobody can.  You can increase your ability to generally meet people's relationship criteria by working on the various aspects of yourself and your life that can be improved.
