I AM IN A CURIOUS MOOD TODAY

DOMS DO THINGS THAT DON'T ALWAYS PLEASE THEM.SAY YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING LIKE FIRE OR ZIPPER PLAY( OR INSERT ANY EXAMPLE) ON YOUR SUB, BUT YOU REALLY GET NO ENJOYMENT FROM THIS AND YET YOU PUSH YOURSELF TO DO IT. WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO DO THESE THINGS, TO MAKE THE SUB HAPPY? TO PUSH YOURSELF PAST SOMETHING WHAT EXACTLY IS THE "PERSONAL GROWTH?

Status: offline 		Let Me begin by saying I am not knocking anyone's kink in this thread or in any other I participate in.... please.

I had a submissive once who loved to be peed on. Myself, I have never actually understood the kink, or been able to connect piss to sexual gratification for Me. I just don't get it.

I didn't hate it. It wasn't a hard limit with Me. So I would do it. Why? Because she often did things she didn't relish in just because I liked it. I didn't feel it was out of the question to do some things she enjoyed that I did not. That's why I would piss on her... because it brought her joy and fulfillment. And I didn't mind at all.

I'm puzzled. If you are sorry about the caps, why use them? If you have a caps only keyboard, just say so.

For me there are two answers to this question.

One reason for doing things from which I don't get direct pleasure is that I like pleasing my sub. If she's happy, there is an energy field that warms everyone in range. On a nonhuman, nonsexual level, what kind of a person wouldn't pet his dog when the dog comes up and puts that loving head on a knee?

The second is that I'm drawn to scenes that are difficult to accomplish and require creativity. For example, I was asked a while back to craft a Dolcett-type scene. That isn't one of my kinks but I had the same pride when I was able to bring it off as a sculptor looking at a finished work.

There is such a thing as a "service top" someone who does things for the bottom to serve them and make them happy. Most tops do it for the scene, for the pleasure, not for any real submission or long term authority issue.

It might also be that they want to try something new out, get new skills.

As far as the dom side goes, some doms like pleasing their sub and doing things they want. For the dom, the ULTIMATE pleasure of seeing their sub get something fun far outweighs any IMMEDIATE lack of pleasure in whatever activity is happening to go on.

However, like anything, doing things that ultimately do not serve you and will not help you become who you are will eventually wear you down. Dominants can get burned out, submissives can get disillusioned.

Dont be sorry about the caps, just dont use them.
I personally never do things just to make someone happy if I dont like them myself. I.e. I cook usually to keep my man happy (and fat ), I can live on french fries alone and be happy for years, but I never cook something I dislike.
Same goes for everything else.

My answer is pretty basic, compared to the others I've read. I do what I need to do to keep my property maintained in optimal working condition. Some things I enjoy, some I do not. I don't particularly care for getting my hands dirty, but I check the oil in my vehicle because it's neccessary to assure that it continues to function correctly. In the same way, I'll schedule time with toy, knowing that she has a need to chat about things that are irrelevant and uninteresting to me. The interaction is something I must provide if I want her at her very best. In every relationship there are some things that I term "the price of doing business". Depending on the relationship, the price may be no greater than common courtesy or as high as one can reasonably imagine. For toy, the price is obedience, for an employee, the price is showing up on time and doing the job. I think sometimes it's easy to lose sight of how simple the mechanics of maintaining a relationship can be.

Well, the short answer would be because it's not all that much effort and it gives your submissive/slave/bottom a little pleasure they might not always get if it's really ALL about you. Personally, I do in a scene those things I enjoy doing, and I don't much care if the bottom I'm playing with enjoys it or not. But every once in a while I feel generous, and I'll do something JUST for them. It's what keeps them coming back.

It was quite cool. We used flesh colored liquid latex and "skinned" her.

It took weeks of hard thinking to come up with that one
