This thread can apply to both sides of mthe slash as it focuses on persona not gender.
sometime , just review the Nicks used here on CM or Alt, or Bondage and ponder why that was chosed to represent the person behind it.

Dominants in the larger majority seem to feel a need to present an aura or macho bad as in some context and lately I see many subs proundly refering to themselves as some form of strength or brat persona, yet when one gets an opportunity to get to know these folks better, the nick just does not match the person.

Any thoughts?

I'm pretending to be a chick pretending to be from california.  I've been outed!  If you wanna wonder something, wonder why people proclaim they are "attractive", "handsome", etc., on their profile, and their picture is right there staring at you... do they think no one would think that if they weren't told (okay, maybe we wouldn't think it anyway).

Is that short for "Bob-Up-N-Kiss-My-Ass", Aileen1968?!!?

My is an acroynm for my most favored poem ...... "Love After Love" ...... just a reminder to me, for me, from me. My take is folks wish to come across in a certain way, despite who they are collectively, hence the nic choice.

Maybe there's a reason or a story behind the name chosen.  Maybe you're just not privy to the reason why.  Maybe I chose Aileen because I wasn't in the mood for the whole world of collarme to know me as SkankySlut.  Maybe I reserve that name for a few.  Or maybe thename that someone choses does represent them.
I would assume, based on your name, that you're Irish and related to the monarchy.  If that's not true then you're just as guilty as putting out a false personna.

Lucylastic....word play on loose elastic.....(given to me when I was in nurse training in the UK when I used to go out clubbing and come home with panties in my pocket (loose elastic)
The first time I got online back in the mid 90s commodore 64 bullitin board days, I decided to use it and it's been my name ever since.
Scene name started out as Mistress LucyAnna, given to me by a mentor, but most people knew me as Lucy when I was part of the local scene.
Now my kids , family and other friends know me as Lucy too.

My nic was supposed to convey that I'm a nurturing, good natured, and at least somewhat intelligent woman.  I added the BBW as a filter of sorts: it was part of who I was when I wrote my profile- and I did not need any of the negative correspondence from folks that found my size unappealing.  Putting it in as part of my nic naturally weeded out Dom's that had a strong preference for thinner women.

To Her... I am Lord, saviour, friend and everything else. as for some of the others.. Who cares... It was a good idea for a thread... But just wasn't approached in a way as to express the motive. Some just want to be not known by thier real world names. I have even seen it taken to that. "Notmyrealname" was the nic... Go figure. Others come to places such as this to live a part of thier lives that they just don't have an appropriate audience to share with in thier own lives. So they take it to something like "Stormsslave" who with the UM's and jobs and what not, is just not a part of her world that she shares with everyone.  So here it is shared.

When signing up for CM, I typed in "Lynn" ... but it was taken...
So was "Lynnx"
"Lynnxz" was available, and it's gradually degraded into "Lynx Kelley" for real time play

I live my life in a gleeful way...to the point of where others are absolutely driven to a joyful attitude around me!  There is no cure for it...thank goodness! :D
