So I'm curious if any other individuals have ever had another amusing moment like this one.

So there I am bopping my way merrily through a nice shower before lunch. Being as I live in part of a very old house (think: still has coal cellar), the water pipes occasionally decide to, well, ... have an opinion?

In the middle of my nice warm shower, the water suddenly decides to go ICE freaking cold. (Fairly normal for an old house in a college town.)

Now there are a couple of options that I can pick from to deal with this. Do I?

A) Get out of the path of the water
B) Turn the water off/heat up
C) Screech loudly and wait for the hiccup to end
D) Yell "RED!!!!!!" .... and then become confused when nothing happens.

E-cookies for anyone who guesses "D".

So I thought I'd share my amusement and see if anyone else out there in kink-land has ever done something like this. (Please tell me I'm not just weird...)

No, but i have caught myself several times when i've been about to react to different situations in sub-mode. IE: When i'm waiting in a store, i have the urge to get on my knees. It's just the way my brain has been programmed. Force of habbit! Just like when i used to spend WAY too much time online... i'd catch myself having moments where i think i should be typing out "LOL" or "BRB" instead of just laughing at someone's joke or getting up and going to the bathroom.

Here is a great shower story!  I was showering and was using a scrungie to wash myself that was soaked in soap suds.  As I brushed the scrungie across my face, the water turned ice cold and I sucked in from the cold hitting my skin and sucked the soap suds from the scrungie down my throat.  My throat closed up and I could not get air down into my lungs.  I was holding on to the shower nozzle gasping and I started to see white stars from lack of oxygen.  I fell backwards out of the shower onto the floor.  By the grace of God, my neighbor came over to borrow coffee and heard me gasping through the screen door.  She called 911 and got me on my stomach and was pushing on my back like you would for a drowning victim and I started to vomit.  She saved my life.  So the moral of the story is...Do not ever use a sudsy scrungie on your face!

Oh jeez yes. I was having a confrontation with my local cable company over a very wrong bill. She kept getting nastier and louder until I finally stood up very straight, looked her in the eye and said"I am soooo not in a power exchange with you honey, now go get your supervisor" It wasn't until her face got this very confused look that I realised what I said.

We have a hot water heater that runs to ALL the water in the house so if lets say the washing machine is turned on while in the shower your shit out of luck as all of the hot water gets transfered to cleaning the cloths instead of you. I dont perticulalry like cold showers but i have learned shouting at inanament object doesnt get one very far so I always opt to tern the shower head away from me till I can turn the water off and just hope the wash wasnt started while I still had soap anyplace.

Just over two years ago i was returning from a kink party down in NC. I was a passenger and we were hit by a semi-truck on the interstate doing 70 mph. The car was totaled, the driver had to be air lifted out and i was lucky and was able to crawl out of the car and collapsed. People all came over and i was in a daze.. as i became more aware i remember the EMT asking if i was lucid when they first got there and i heard one of the folks telling the EMT, "She was talking but she kept saying "red, red" so she was not lucid because the truck as black, not red."

as for semi-trucks, they have been on my limit list eversince

E - replace the valve with a new one that keeps the water at the same temp and reduces the cold water component to do so. Which means if someone else flushes you wind up with a trickle of water of the same temp until it can return to normal pressure.

While working on my last job, I was walking down the lunch catering line trying to decide what I wanted to eat.  There were people lined up on each side of the buffet line and when we got to the veggies, there was some sort of salad mixture that was mostly beets.  I said, "Beets, ."  One of the guys says, "Wha?  You don't like beets?"  Without skipping a beat (no pun intended), I said, "Beets!  Hard Limit!"  The guy across the line from me looked up suddenly and broke out in a big smile...... and said, "I knew it!"   Everyone just looked at him like he was crazy.
I just smiled, winked and kept on going down the line.  After that day, he'd always make a point of waving at me or winking.

I love hearing things like this, mixing things up when you don't relize it. I have two that I have done, but nothing that would totally give anything away to the total Vanilla type person. One was me and a good friend with our kids were going to get some pictures printed from wal-mart of our kids. She liked one photo except she wanted it to be cropped up a little. Next thing I hear from her is, "Where is my crop?" Not relizeing what I was saying in front of everyone, I just said, "I have one at home you can borrow!" And we both got a good laugh out of it. (She is a bit of a pain slut, so she knew what I ment.) The old lady behind the counter looked at me a little odd, but ohh well.

The only other one was going out to dinner with my in laws and the server asks me if I would like a refill and I say "Yes, Sir" and then kind of blush relizing what I was saying. I kind of brushed it off like it was polite. Then he looks over at my Master to grab his plate making a motion and asks Him, "Sir?" Then I start giggling. My mother in law looked at me like I was crazy!

As for the shower... I love D!!

The one and only time my Sir and I played on the phone, before we got together in real life, was a scene that ended with me in a shower with only the cold water beating down on me. That was the first time I cried red.
