Status: offline 		Well you reap what you sow. Personally I'm happy to see the American public stand up and denounce these acts in such a manor. I think the posting of these young ladies names and addresses is just in such a case. They lost their rights when they broke the law and committed these haeneus acts. It's time parents start being held accountable for the bad parenting that leads to these situations. Personally I can't think of a better way to do that other then total exposure of who they are and where they live. We post child molestors names and faces all around the neighborhoods they move into after they are released from prison. The children who commit these crimes and their parents need to be acknowleged for who they are and what they have done. Nothing works better than public humiliation and disdain especially when you know what you did was wrong and inexcusable.
Personally I think a good public flogging would do the trick.

Status: offline 		The word on the street is that Dr. Phil was planning on doing a show on this story. And they wanted to bail out the ringleader and fly her to the show. Then the media found out and started to report on it. Immediately the producers cancelled the show and claimed they dont bail people out of jail.
In other words, their hand got caught in the cookie jar.

Status: offline 		I would like to take this opportunity to once again call for implementation of my Public Punk Paddling Policy. I wouldn’t go as far as Chelsea and flog them but twenty good smacks (it’s not a good smack if there isn’t at least a loud yelp) with a leather paddle on the bare ass in public (attention all students, there will be a special assembly on the soccer field at 2pm today) will teach these punks a thing or two and make other punks think twice about anything they’re planning. Especially if the victim is allowed to record the punishment and post it on YouTube (now that would be poetic justice).

Sadly, I don’t expect a Public Punk Paddling Policy to be adopted anytime soon but if I were the Judge pronouncing sentence (bearing in mind that, as cyberdude pointed out, we haven’t seen the full video) my goal would be to teach a harsh lesson but still give them a chance to not completely ruin their lives. First, six months house arrest and I mean arrest. Barring emergencies of course (e.g. the house is on fire), you don’t put so much as a little toe pass the property line or you go to jail for the remainder of the six months plus and additional six months on top of it. If they successfully complete the house arrest then three years probation and one thousand hours community service. Complete all that and I’ll expunge your records.

I would be tempted to order them all to write lengthy apologies to the victim but true repentance comes from within and can’t be commanded from without. We can aid in teaching empathy (and a bare ass public paddling would certainly teach them what it feels like to be the center of hostile feelings and to have your pain be other people’s amusement) but ultimately it is the individual that is accountable to the self. That is my ultimate hope for these kids, that they will come to understand through empathy what they put their victim through. From that would come feelings of guilt and shame which (despite what some namby-pamby feel gooders may tell you) are not always bad things to be avoided. We should feel guilty and ashamed for the wrongs we have committed. Guilt and shame lead to repentance (i.e. a genuine desire to apologize, make amends and be forgiven). Forgiveness, of course, is ultimately up to the victim but in my experience most people are willing to forgive if they perceive the repentance to be sincere.

Whoa....I just gotta jump in here. Ok, Im along with everyone else here that I hope the girls get whats coming to them...but to automatically assume "white-trash" cause of where they are from?????? Personally I take some massive offense to that. Not too many years ago I was graduating from the very high school these girls are cheerleaders at, and my parents are very close friends still with the principal and his wife. I grew up in the Mulberry/Bartow area, and I will agree that its definantly not hilton-head island, but wow.....no where near "total white-trash"...Just because its a basic middle-class blue collar town, It does have quite a few higher class neighborhoods, and a percentage of the school actually DOES live in a country club, my little brother was a caddie there for years.

Status: offline 		my hometown is Scottsdale, Az -I lived in a  very upperclass neighborhood.  I went to an all girls private school downtown..  I worked hard to become the fabulous white trash specimine you see before you.... that being said- I would BREAK MY KIDS ASSES if they ever pulled that shit on others and they know it!-- put the fear of mom in 'em is my motto! where the hell where the moms? cuz I am pretty sure they wern't sweet ans innocent kittens one day and blood thirsty hounds the next... there must have been some inkling that their children were bitches....

Just because you do not live in the city does not mean you are white trash.. Or hell because you did some shit mean you are white trash. Shit look at page one of this thread.. folks were shocked it was a bunch of little white cheer leaders that did it. ~ I remember HS. I am not surprised in the least. *smirks* It is just now the hateful little cunts have video cameras.

I have some black friends that when this came out looked at the news and sighed in relief it wasnt a bunch of black kids. ( how sad is that?)

I know plenty of poor people in the area where this occured who are far from "white trash". I also know plenty with money who should by in the stereo-typical trailer park. I would bet good money that the parents of some of the kids involved have the same lack of social skills and morals that their kids have.

Look at the Nuevo Riche and the Euro Trash.. More dollars then sense. ( As my mother used to say)

Just because some one has money or newly aquired money doesnt mean they have to act like a spolied jack ass. Or because someone is poor doesnt mean they have to act like a podunk hill billy. You cant lump every one into one neat box.

Yeah, wow, indeed.  This comes up at least a couple times a month and I've been on the soapbox about it so much I'm exhausted.  I rant and rave about how ignorant the use of such a term is but it's nearly universally accepted when other filthy racial monikers are despised.  It's stupid, unfair and very indicative of the user's intellect and racial beliefs.  You take the soapbox for awhile, ghita.  See if you ever get any acknowledgment that you have a point.  I rarely do..................luci

and what were they doing running around in a group? When i was 18 i wouldn't have been found dead with a 14 year old.
