i always talked to my Shepard, Excalibur, he was the poo! i loved letting our rabbit, Roger, chase this massive black Shepard about the yard! Our neighbors found a kitten a few days old, and well ..... since i had worked at the local shelter, was no way i was going to call animal control to come get that dollar sized fur ball. Outside of working at the aforementioned, i had never allowed a cat to err, own me! It only took me about a year to learn the distinct differences btwn cats and dogs!!
Ummmmmm bobbi, You can't wash him; Ummmm bobbi, You can't get in his face like that; Ummmmm bobbi, You can't play with him like that!! Needless to say i have many learning scars, and Shadow the cat thinks he is a dog!

Sure, I say other things to them, but those are the most common phrases. Oh, and telling the labs to stop barking at EVERY LITTLE SOUND outside. It is a LEAF! It is not going to invade and steal your food! Shesh!

Hrmmmm....

Well, in order to do the Cat and a Dog song RIGHT, you must wave your arms around wildly, and chase the cat under the table. Follow this up by raiding your fridge for anything Cat&Dog will eat, which usually ends up being sammich meats, to the annoyance of all the human sammich makers in the house. If your cat&dog are full of awesome like mine are, you can stack them, meaning give the dog food, put the cat on the dog, and put food on the dog.

"CAT! Cat anna dog, cat anna dog... Whooooosss my cat and a dogface!? Theres my CatDog.. yes him was!! ..... get out of the fridge cat... Cat and a dog, Cat and a dog.... O hey Drew... didn't know anyone else was home... No.. no I'm fine "

Sometimes I sing the 'big truck' song to Max one of our cairn 'terrors'
(he hates trucks)
It goes something like...

I hate big trucks and I cannot lie
and those other dogs can't deny
When a truck drives by filled with waste
and those big sounds in your face
I get pumped, I get pup pumped...

And for the Gabby dog (another cairn terror) she get's

Heh I have songs for the critters too, when I drive by my neighbors horses it's 'Hello horsies how are youuuuuuuu, if not good I will make ya into glueeeeeeeeeee'. My 20 year old kitty Barney it's 'Senile senile, stay awhile ole senile senile. Smile little senile Barney Barney the barnacle. If I throw the senile senile gonna stay awhile Barney, I can throw senile kitty a mile'. (Then I scoop her up and toss her onto the center of the bed) Usually the dog is backing away from me at this time so I have to get a bit louder for her 'Mickey is icky oh Mickey is icky cuz she is a dog that goes icky licky licky is icky GET OFF THE BED'.

It's nice to know I'm not the only nut here!And for the record, no birds. No no birds. I am terrified of those beady-eyed talon-hooked feathery-liced pea-brained things.

My birrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdie loooooooooooooves me!! He does the grey parrot happy dance when he sees me, and gives me kisses, and generally is the Bird of teh Awesome.

Who is also the KING OF DESTRUCTION who constantly escapes from his very large play area (the cage is never closed up) to look for me in other parts of the house, leaving a trail of POOP AND DESTRUCTION in his path.

But he is my life companion, and hey! compare him to most guys, and the bird STILL comes out ahead.
