So, if the soul is the most precious thing a sub or slave gives up to another person, what does that actually mean in practicality ?

If it helps, please feel free to give examples of how you would explain my question.

I would say that for me, it means that I have willingly given up all that makes me "me". That I am willing to give my entire essence, if you will, to him. To change, on my own free will, that which will please him, regardless of what it is, because to please him, makes me incredibly happy.

Now, having said that, that doesn't mean that that is what he's asked of me or will ask of me. But it's there for his taking if he wants it. Oh - and trusting him so completely that I know I'm perfectly safe in his hands and heart.

Years ago my Master said he doesn't believe souls can be owned.  It is the essence of a person - the part that makes up their personality, their character, who they are in their core.  He feels he can influence it - even guardianship it - but not own it.

I don't know how he feels about that now.  I'll have to ask him.  I feel my own soul is in his hands.  I'm still merging away from my previous beliefs (of my own accord) about God and spirituality.  My former self was convinced that God owns our souls and no one else can.  I'm not sure I think that anymore. 

I do believe my Master owns as much of me as is possible to own.  It means I would go through anything for him - even those things people would tell others to leave from.  It means, when given a choice of whether I wanted to stay or go, there was nothing to choose.  There is no choice.  It means as long as I still have free will to decide on my own where I should be (versus him deciding), he is not the keeper of my soul.

I think "Own me mind, body and soul" is overused and sounds really cool and romantic, but is often not the case.  I think it is something that develops over time, on its own.  I don't think someone can decide to give their soul away, at least not easily or even consciously.  I think when it happens it is a slow process that one may or may not be aware of.

Interesting question.  :)

This is how I believe. He can leave his footprints on it but it is the one thing that I don't believe that anyone can own.

Yeah, that "owned mind, body and soul" thing does sound cool and romantic and may indeed be a way of expressing one's commitment and devotion.....I just don't think it's really possible. To me the soul is a constant for "all eternity" and I think that when we are done here we continue on someplace else. Eternity is too long of a time period for me to be able to believe that we would be limited to "just one". Heck, maybe I've done this a few times already....maybe I am already living "eternity" out. Even in this life I have loved so deeply before that I thought I was owned mind, body and soul. Turned out that it was for a limited time frame though, even though I thought it would be for all of eternity at the time.

That's a great observation, Erin, about eternity.  I believe we can have several soul mates throughout our lives and aren't limited to just one.  But can a Master own his slave's soul long after she is gone?  How would he know?  He may be the Keeper of her soul while she is here on earth, but I don't think we can take it farther than that.  (He/She's can be interchanged for the purpose of this post. [:)] )

See I am oddly confused about the practice about giving Body Parts in this lifestyle.

I have may a man who owns his girls Pussy
Another who says he "owns her ass"
A girl who wants to give her mind body and soul to her Master.
And another who want a Master to take of her what he wants and leave the rest.

See I am a Realist..... I just want her to want to be with me and do the things that I want her to do.

I have called it devotion. I only want the body cause the idea of only owning certain parts sounds messy. Not to mention creepy.

I want Surrender not Trinkets.

Sure it is a token in words of an act of self but the act of being completely devoted to someone shows the control of your own self and a choice you have made when you give yourself to someone else I BELIEVE you are saying that you cannot make the decision on your own so you give your self to them to make it for you, but even then you chose to give yourself away so I don't really understand the sentiment.

Another question along the soul line. What really gets broken when you lose a loved one. Your heart or your soul. I think if you have commited that deeply it is more than just your heart.

I dont know about anyone else but that sounds like fru fru land of the unicorns and pixie's crap to me (no offence ment really to the Unicorns and pixies) I dont think you can give up your soul, I think no matter how devoted you are how submissive or uber slave you are your soul belongs to you and to G-d it isnt something that can be taken or given. I think the entire "I give you my soul" thing is over romantasized unrealistic thing, maybe I'm jaded though I dont really think so, just realistic.

It is a euphemism for putting someone before yourself.  "He owns me, my soul, ect," means that whoever that is, means more to you, than your own needs.
I am a believer in having a soul.  Mine will not leave me until I take my last breath. 
In my life, I would have jumped in front of a bullet to save the life of at least two men I have loved.  And if that meant they owned my soul, then the euphemism fits.  But since I would have also done that for my children, then ownership spreds thin.
I own my soul.  I give my devotion.

Master owns me mind ,body and heart, but as for my soul i would have to say no.  My soul is something beteeen me and God.  Masters and my souls are intertwined i believe though.

whats the soul? Once you have answered that you can say, is the soul energy, can that persons energy be intwined with anothers yeah and can it leave an imprint after its gone yeah that would be my definition.
