Status: offline 		I am a new to this so I hope my question does not offend anyone.  I am a gay male sub with little experience and curious about this lifestyle.  Can someone please explain to me why some married or straight male doms sometimes seek gay male subs?  Once again, not my intention to offend anyone, just trying to gain some insight.  Any help would be appreciated.

Status: offline 		There are those here who will immediately say that BDSM is not about sex... it doesn't matter what your sexual orientation is, that dominating is dominating and submitting is submitting.  Just because you have a dominant, that doesn't mean you'll have sex or that sex is wanted.

*shrugs*  Personally, I haven't a clue why a straight male dom might seek a gay male sub.  Because he wants to?

I am a Straight Fem Dominant and the best sub I ever had was a female submissive in a nonsexual relasionship.  I made her mine because she was a great submissive and we had a great time together and grew together ....I cant answer for others.

I dont look at gender when I look at the potential connection of a submissive and myself.

Status: offline 		There is never just one reason for lifestyle choices.  It is possible that a straight male is interested in gay men due to his own latent tendencies,  yes.  But it is also possible that a straight male is seeking to understand the nature of dominance with regard to his own experience as a man.  Domination does not always include sex.  It is a highly psychological experience,  and the "flavor" of dominating another man is completely different from the "flavor" of dominating a woman.  i am a woman who has dominated both men and women,  sometimes  non-sexually, and i have also served as a slave non-sexually at times - all are very different experiences, and all help one to know oneself and others in quite interesting  ways.

Status: offline 		I am a straight female Dominant and I have had straight female and gay male submissives before. In both cases they were nonsexual relationships. I cannot say that is necessarily why, but its a possibility.  And just becasue a Dom is married does not make him straight, just married. He might be bi and looking, with or without his wifes knowledge.
You are never going to get real answer unless you ask the straight or married doms themselves.

Status: offline 		Because men react to pain differently than women do? Because his primary can't take much pain and isn't willing to open the relationship to include another female he could have sex with, but will accept a gay male that doesn't threaten their relationship?
Because his car needs an oil change and he prefers girls with long nails and pretty skirts who don't do those kinds of things?

Although the main reason I've heard offered is number two. It allows him someone else to hit, hopefully harder, but doesn't carry the chance of his gf/wife not being able to deal with it and leaving.

I don't think I've ever known of an unattached straight male dom seeking a gay male sub but I have known of those with female subs seeking a gay male as a third.

I'm going to guess that if they are seeking a gay male sub, they are not straight.

Or, they are in it purely for the "play" aspect and want nothing sexual, which is a possibility.

If I had to bet money, I'd be betting on the former.  Especially if they were a Republican senator from Idaho (cheap shot!).

Status: offline 		Domination qua domination is exciting and meaningful to me.  Dominating a woman meshes with all my sexuality, whereas dominating a man would be something of a mismatch--meaningful in a PE way, but a cross-wire sexually.

Maybe there are men out there who can get over that cross-wire, and just enjoy/explore the domination part.

But I bet like 90% of them are bi-curious or whatever :)
