To dwell on the diminished beauty of BB is not exactly life enhancing is it ?

Ugly old buggas like me have nothing much to lose thats why my character is so....so. well rounded.

Oh come on, Kittin, you know the English and French have a hate/hate relationship; centuries of competition, wanton misunderstanding and the trick of geography mean we're not exactly brothers in arms.

I'm a dual national. I was born in France, my mother's English, and I was brought up in both countries. I feel both Frog and Roastbeef, or neither of them. I dislike both countries in equal amounts. And I appreciate both countries' qualities in equal amounts too.

Jews, Muslims, and farmers in Iowa........ who knew? The meat tastes better this way.

Probably wouldn't help the flavour of BB though. I am guessing she would be rather tough and sinewy with a distinct chemical overtone.

Not good enough Kitten. The stun gun is designed to render them unconscious so that the slaughter may be as humane as is possible.

The Muslim slaughter ceremony requires a poor terrified creature to be at the centre of an excitable mob giving vent to a blood lust in the name of unverifiable mysticism. ie Islam

If I had my way both Jewish and Halal mehods of animal slaughter would be stopped....immediately.
Animals are conscious and bled. For how long I dont know.

I'm not even convinced by Bardot's arguments against Halal (or Kosher?) animal slaughtering.   Surely before stun guns, all French meat would have been slaughtered in much the same way, so how is it against French tradition?  If anything, its a return to tradition.

None of which should be taken to imply that I agree cultures should be frozen still and preserved.  Culture needs growth and change to survive.

I don't advocate to being the nicest person on the planet, however, I'm fully aware of my character flaws and varying degrees in ugliness. We are much the same in that respect only.

Criticise me all you wish to, there is no way you can convince me that if those 'dumb' creatures had a voice and weren't dependent on such a person for their survival that they'd support Bardot and her racial incitement.

Farmers in Iowa do this too... well, it's not for no reason that the meat tastes better that way. All the toxines are evacuated. When you eat the blood of a corpse that's full of adrenaline, it doesn't taste nearly as good.

As for Bardot... finishing in the stomach of an angry but beautiful tiger would be redeeming for her sins, in my book :-) . At least, she'd be useful for something.

That's all dependent on a number of factors. I used to live near an abbattoires in Peckham, and have seen several documentaries more recently that omits the 'humane' from any practice applied. At least with halal meat the animal's major artery (if I am correct) is severed and it bleeds to death quickly without the added stress of being herded into a room and surrounded by machinery. Animals have that sixth sense, so I'm pretty sure they know 'what's coming' when they are herded into the abbattoires.

I would be more in support of ensuring better stunning procedures, Seeks.

She got two months probation, and 15,000 Euros fine

The prosecutor said she was fed up with having to deal with Bardot (it's the sixth affair of this kind with the ex, huh, 'comedienne').

Whether stunning is properly applied I do not know, but at least it was implemented to diminish animal suffering.
I have seen documentaries where chickens were supposed to be electrocuted , which frequentlly didn't work, before having their throats cut. Quite disgusting and I might even say heartbreaking.

Halal and Jewish  slaughter methods are indifferent to the animals plight. and so IMO wrong.
Its their culture ennit?

And you hit the nail on the head, it's their culture, their tradition for culling their meat, Seeks. Provided the animal isn't abused prior to being killed, I have no problem with it - the knives are sharp, the animal is likely used to being around excitable people and the only suffering it would have felt would be a small nick to the neck. It would bleed out very quickly and I tend to think it is exposed to less stress factors than the typical way of killing animals via a conveyor belt abbattoire system... I have witnessed both methods and tend to believe the latter is less favourable. Sure the intention is there... I always intend to be nice to people, I don't always succeed [;)]

I think this deserves a topic of its own as we're rather derailing this thread, don'tcha think, hot stuff?

KittinSol, I'm not surprised the prosecutor stated they were fed up of dealing with Bardot. I'm sure the world is fed up of hearing her misanthopic musings. Give a person enough rope... but she's taking her sweet time in hanging herself! She would like the return of the guillotine... I wonder if she'd be prepared to test drive it herself in support of her racist/homophobic views?
