Just wondering, why does everyone come here, to this site I mean

What is it you seek ?

Have you found what you seek?

Has it lived up to it's expectations ?

I'm just looking for my keys.

You should not put keys in your back pocket, they can get bent.

See, that's why people come here, for expert advice !

All kidding aside though, I am increasingly finding RL discussions to be too mundane for my taste, or perhaps more aptly, my time. Too many people want to talk about what they are thinking of buying, TV shows/movies, some chick they saw at the mall but didn't have the balls to walk up and introduce themselves. Crap like that. I choose my words, and this crap is not even good enough to be shit.

Not that such discussions do not go on here, but they are generally sequestered in their own thread(s) and if the subject does not interest me I simply don't click it.

And a word to the wise MM, when you get into serious shit here (that should illustrate the difference between crap and shit lol), there are very strict rules. At first they seems restrictive, but in the long run they force people to express themselves civilly and without name calling or insults. I think this a positive thing.

That vanilla cone will disappear and one day you might get the highly coveted "Condemned" rating. Just realize that by the time you get there you will probably have gotten about twenty warnings from a moderator, had about a dozen posts pulled and been put on moderation a few times. The only way to avoid it probably is to not talk about serious shit, but as far as I am concerned, I just can't hep myself.

I agree with you that it is a positive thing to express an opinion without adding insult and to remain civil. I personally have discovered many concepts presented here, that I otherwise would have never known about or thought about, and appreciate looking at all sides of a topic. Hopefully, if I ever get challenged about my opinion here, I won't take it personally, and know it is merely someone elses opinion.

I joined Cm...... cause I was drunk and bored one night.  Took me a while to make my way over to this side... but god, am I glad I did!  You freaks keep me entertained, make me think, laugh, sometimes cry, and I love you for that :)  With my work schedule, I don't have a social life to speak of, so you guys keep me (relatively) sane...
Welcome, MMistress!! I will warn you.. the forums are very addicting... :) Have fun!

ETA: MAJOR bonus is I found Riff on CM... (now if I could just find that elusive UK job..lol)

So what would be your pleasure M'lady ? The Presidential election, the economy, Iraq, racism, sexism, homophobia or Zionism ? We got it all. Be careful with that last one as this is a public forum, that is anyone can read it. But the Zionists even have not gone unscathed here.

There is another thing you'll find about OTD, you go back through 4 or 5 pages of threads and realize that you are on material that is only a few days old. It seems we have many opinions, go figure.

Happy rabblerousing.

Thanks for the wecome. While I don't know how to turn a British male sub into a Dom, I do know how to turn a Dom into a bottom. As I recall, there may have been an ice cream cone involved. It works for me!

The same reason you pick up the National Enquirer while waiting in the grocery check out line. Its very amusing and every so often they tell you can find out where a new batch of 'aliens' has landed. If you're lucky they're friendly and in your own neighborhood.

In some ways it is  better than the 'Enquirer'. Unlike the Enquirer, you can interact with the reports and reporters and, if inclined, challenge them and yourself.

However the BEST part by far is that every so often you can actually meet the aliens. Hell, sometimes you 'am' one.

In one word....

FUN

it's a nice break from the stupidity of the discussion forums at school.  sometimes i'd like to take a few of the kids in my classes back behind the building and beat some common sense into them!  and to think at that age they think they know it all.  god help us!
