Has anyone noticed how many threads are getting locked down lately? Everybody is fighting. I think it's because it's Fall and everyone's testosterone level is up during mating season.

Everybody always disagree's on a good message board. It means people are'nt afraid to speak their mind. Also are reading.

Hormonal imbalances?

Lordandmaster -> RE: Thread Lockdowns (10/10/2005 7:12:23 PM)

I think some threads are getting locked too quickly.

greenie -> RE: Thread Lockdowns (10/10/2005 7:12:36 PM)

What? Huh? Did i hear mating season?

Belladonna82 -> RE: Thread Lockdowns (10/10/2005 7:16:25 PM)

:) ok ok....lol i just have to comment on this one....

It isnt hormone levels ...i think the submissive/slaves chasity belts/peircings are a little snug...and the Master/Dom's have misplaced the keys...lol after wearing the chasity belt/peircing for a few weeks and the Dom/Masters being frustrated about where those dern keys are...lol Someone needs to invent a voice activated chasity belt/peircing....automaticly comes off by Master/Mistress's command lol...that way tention can be released lol

Forever in servitude,

I'm enjoying this...it's about time that the mood has lightened!

ModeratorEleven -> RE: Thread Lockdowns (10/10/2005 7:22:49 PM)

It's what happens when adults act like children. Strangely enough, it is possible to have differing opinions without resorting to personal attacks and childish put-downs. Ponder that for a spell.

Mating season? I thought mating season was in the spring for most species?

Damnit... I was just about to post that. So...

Yeah! What she said!!

IronBear -> RE: Thread Lockdowns (10/11/2005 1:50:19 AM)

If you get a couple of people who are prepared to post their opinions and also ready to aggressively (Not abusively but vigorously) dismember the opposition post, there are those who for what ever reason will see the opposition’s comments as being personal. This may be due to a fragile ego, the refusal to accept that some one else may be correct or the form of post against them just appears to be directed at them. After a few posts the commonsense level decreases and the ire rises so that you have a budding flame war with each person trying to outdo the other. (A male pissing contest). Even when the thread is ended, there is a strong possibility that these two protagonists will continue to harbour feelings of ill will toward the other and logic would indicate that each is looking (often subconsciously) for personalised attacks. What follows, may be snide comments, an attitude of superiority and thus either condescending comments and /or sarcasm. At times it is difficult to spot this and in fact in many cases it isn’t there except in the mind of the other person. In many cases I’d say the Mods having been made aware of the animosity from previous situations will probably monitor the threads closely and act with warnings or a pre-emptive lock down to stop a flame war starting.. It really doesn’t matter who the people involved are, we all at times are guilty of childish acts and temper tantrums.. Some people just either don’t like another, or irrespective of what is said, will not recognise them as being whatever (Gorean, BDSM, TPE etc, etc ~ you add the appropriate group). Until everybody involved is prepared to step back and make some adjustments in their cyber speech pattern or mannerisms this will continue..

Personally, I’d prefer to see more people speaking out when some one is being rude, ill-mannered, condescending or abusive. Remember the “offender” may not be aware how he or she is coming across and at the least all they can do in retaliation is to abuse you which others including the Mods will pick up and deal with. You always have the option to report a post or block some one who is being abusive. If enough people do speak up perhaps the “Offender/s” will realise that they are acting in an inappropriate manner,

Nope. I heard stags belling a few days ago. It has to be the explanation.

Aileen68 -> RE: Thread Lockdowns (10/11/2005 4:55:46 AM)

Yup...the big bucks are starting to rut (rutt?) and crash antlers here in Jersey. All looking for a piece of Doe tail.

True for the species that have short gestation periods.

Think about it, man long ago would do less & less out doors as it became colder outside. I think snuggling up with someone would be a lot more entertaining than painting on a cave wall all day... LOL!

From what I hear this still happens today in the colder regions. Lots of babies born 9 months after the first lingering blasts of freezing cold.

As to the crankiness of the posts.. it seems most folk get irratable when the holidays approach... maybe they don't have that snuggle partner & are thinking about yet another winter drawing on walls.

I don't see any need for the personal attacks that sometimes occur here, but then I appreciate reading them, as it shows more about the person saying them, then about the subject they are ranting about. I've learned much about certain posters here, and yet I've never had a personal conversation with them, and would never want to either. [;)]

I do think there are nasty thread baters that thrive on turmoil (and attention), and on working toward getting things personal.

I'd like to see the threads progress myself. It's nice to see some hot issues resolved or at least settled down, on their own.

I have to agree with your comment. So true the whole post.

Ive sen many snide comments in these boards, sadly some go un-noticed....

Ih have to agree with mod 11 aswell. such a true statement.

dommemagnet -> RE: Thread Lockdowns (10/11/2005 11:34:16 AM)

Mating season? I don't recall getting my invitation in the mail.

Hey, mod 11, I don't flame, I hate everybody that doesn't agree entirely with everything I say and believe. Lousy shits, don't they realize how totally irrelevant their opinions, desires, orientations are compared against the one "true" way? Mine?

whew! glad I got that off my chest.

I'll post again tomorrow when they let me out of my padded cell for recess.

Don't forget my invitation to breeding season!

Hehe, why is it narrowed down to a season? Why the restrictions??

"Help Help! I'm being repressed!"

Actually, I thought that mating season was in the fall, and the birth occured durring the spring, but I am quite possibly wrong on that. It just seems more logical. But then again, there's a shortage of logic in the world.
