Status: offline 		I cannot see myself waking up one day to consider a submissive that I would normally never have considered otherwise. My dealbreakers are in place for a reason - the reasons may seem petty to others but they are important to me and that's what matters most to me. That is how I read your post - pertaining to dealbreakers. Preferences are a different story. Sure, I prefer certain things but there is some latitude within my preferences.

She might make an exemplary submissive for another dominant bit if I have to make a radical change to my standard operating procedure then she likely would not be an exemplary submissive for me.

Status: offline 		Recently, I've found making exceptions has not worked well for me.

That said, if someone impressed me enough -- I'd think twice.

I have a very close friend and have to remind myself regularly that he's much younger than I am -- 20 years.  As my boi says, our friend has an old soul.  He's been through a lot that lends a level of maturity.  If I simply rejected him because of age, I wouldn't have him as a friend.  He's also becoming a regular play partner for my boi and me.  That said, he's not submissive and wouldn't likely fit that in my life.

There are exceptions to everything.  In the end, its just good to have a few guidelines in life -- at least for me.

There is an 11 year age diffrence between us.And if you look around, there's plenty of instances of very old doms owning very young girls. There's one man here who's beyond 50 and his partner is like 20 or something. So it kind of blows your doubt out of the water.

Now, maybe it's diffrent for women dominants, and male subs, I don't know I don't pay any attention to fem dom male sub dynamics since it's not an interest of mine, but age diffrences are quite common in male dom fem sub.

Thank you, that was mainly for the romantic relationship side of things... one wierd (quirk?) I've noticed about myself, is that I seem to befriend people who are significantly older than me - sometimes as much as twice my age.

I find the friendships I get from those individuals are more solid than the ones with people my own age... Maybe it has to do with the enormous amount of crap I dealt with as a teen, which might have forced me to grow up/mature quicker, instead of letting nature take its course.

Dunno if that makes any sense, but its something I've wondered for a long time..

Status: offline 		I've made exceptions... geographically. And no that didn't work out. Exceptional people come in all ages, as some of the others said, its about the energy and connection really. As for friends, i don't discriminate based on age, role, or gender.

Status: offline 		I did have an age limitation (or at least a strong preference for submissives within ten years of my age), but my sissy emily made me reconsider that. We met, we clicked, and there you go (24 vs. 45.)  The individual in question made me rethink it.

Now, does this mean I want my other hard limits challenged and reconsidered? No. But when it comes to age, I am more flexible than I thought I was.

At first, we were very limited in our search, looking for someone who was our age (early twenties), submissive and female. We were recently contacted and have struck up a friendship (meeting soon!) with a dominant woman and her sub, both of whom are very much out of our initial age range. While speaking with her, she told me that she was making an exception in our cases because she normally plays with those closer to her age, but something inspired her to initiate contact, she said we had a sincerity about us.  I'm very flattered by it and hope not to dissappoint!

I think if you keep your spirits up and make sure you come across as willing to please as a sub, a Domme might take interest in you and not just your age.

Status: offline 		At this point in my life I can't really have a major age difference between me and a sub where he's younger than me, seeing as much younger and it'd be illegal.    As it stands I've got quite a taste for older men, anyway.  Not as much as Celine Dion, but something like a four or five year age difference?  Hey, I'll take that.  I don't much care for my contemporaries, as a general rule.

I've been told, though, that as a woman gets older there comes a point in time where "older than her" is just not gonna work out, at which point you start looking at younger men.  Obviously I don't have a reference point for this, but I can imagine myself being in my 30s and having a cabana boy, oh my yes.  I've got a pool in my backyard that needs cleaning, now all I need is Goran Visnjic to come over and do it in a pair of cutoff shorts.  Yummy!
