Oh, I HAVE to toss my 2 cents in... considering wolf was 23 and I was 40 when he got here...lol

And yes, he is younger than I would have looked at.  In fact, his emails still go into my bulk folder here because of his age.  There was just a certain something about his writing that sparked something in me... it isn't really anything tangible, kindred souls is the closest thing.

And so, I have seen the same thing in a few of the other younger subs here..and a few of the older ones also.   I have another interest who is in my bulk mail for being over aged...  I found that my problem is that I accidentally brought over my prejudice about my dating age range into my submissive search.   After being able to pull the two issues apart, and see them as separate relationships, I was able to open myself up to more possibilities.

Just because I wouldn't date him/her... doesn't mean they wouldn't look splendid tied to my wall.

As I mentioned in your other thread, blackpearl, one rule that I changed was not taking a sub who was in the military.  The other thing that I was against for years was taking a married submissive.  Well, you know what they say about never say never.  My collared sub happens to be both.

What caused Me to rethink it?  Honestly, it was him.  If it wasn't for the type of person that he is, I doubt I would have changed My mind.  I used to say every sub who is married to someone else always thought they were the exception to the rule.  Then, I found one who was.  If he asked to be released tomorrow, I'd probably go back to the 'no married people' rule, because it would be a rare thing to find someone as exceptional as him.

Is he currently serving? Or was he honorably discharged? Or is he a reservist?

Thank You for the replies everyone!

I've been wanting to get everyones opinion on this, mainly because I find myself attracted to older women... but my age (27) is kind of a hindrance..

Do you mean serving besides Me?  Just kidding.

Yes, he's a reservist.  Over this past year with Me, he's been in nursing school.  When he goes back to Iraq, they are taking him as a truck driver.  (Makes no sense, does it?)  Still, I'm glad the reserves spent all of that money to provide Me with a submissive that was in My location.

I think attraction and compatibility are complex sums of various considerations that are not black and white but grey.

IF I had an age limit, the person's behavior would make me rethink it. My girl is 17 years my senior. I've been contacted by a very impressive boy who is 17 years my junior. So, age isn't much of a hang-up, even if 'the kid' did ask who Bill and Ted are due to a quote in my email signature! *chuckle*

Ok.. (I'm trying in vain to come up with a topic that hasn't been beaten to death already.. so please, bare with me)

Most here would (hopefully?) agree that age plays a significant factor..I highly doubt you'd see a 35+ y.o Dominant, owning a  ~25 something year old sub

My pet is 26 and I am 39...I've known him since he was 19--at which point while in the country he was in and the county I was living he was fully of age......but I was uncomfortable. Which I was uncomfortable with Ds conversation between us---and encouraged him to go out and meet a strict young woman his own age.....Of course, a soon as he turned 21 he reminded he was now met my requirements :)

Incidentally, I like older men too.

This was a great question to ask, blackpearl...I realized that if the attraction is there and the ability to communicate and understand each other exists, then age is of no consequence.

What can I say. Seeing as that Im the Yoda on here everyone else is younger than me. I figure as long as their limbs twitch on their own accord they are fair game.

Does anyone have specific examples of a time they've been impressed by a sub they wouldn't have normally considered?

Ie: A sub who was practically a "virgin" to the lifestyle, exhibiting a high amount of skill in something - ie shibari/robe bondage etc?

Actually, this has just happened to me! Normally I only consider men over 25.  I never thought I'd be interested in taking on a man under 21, as he wouldn't even be able to go to a bar with me.  Well, I recently viewed the profile of a 20 yr old man that said he had skill in shibari...I figured, what the hell, I'd like to learn, let's see....  We met, hit it off and have started spending time together.  Hopefully, he'll help me as I learn shibari, help me with my leatherwork...lots of possibilities!  I'm glad I was willing to be flexible about age because I met a great person, who just happens to be 21 yrs my junior.   My mate is 55... my slave is 51...my pup is 40...my male switch is 37.... my female switch is 31...and now my kitten is 20.  I'd say I have a pretty large acceptable age range.

My Dominant is 37, I'm 20.

Age is not a factor as much as beauty and personality is to me. I'm willing to look beyond age as she is because we match well and both find oneanother attractive.

Other factors such as profession and lifestlye are  bit more difficult to overcome but age is truly intangible.

Is greedy a bad thing?   Seriously, though, other than my mate, whom I live with, I don't get to see the members of my little "family" as much as I'd like to.  Given the job responsibilities and family responsibilities of each of them, time with any one of them can be very limited.  I now see my slave once a week and we've been trying to work out more time....but as the custodial parent of his ums, and the fact that his job takes him out of town for almost a week just about every month, that's not always easy.  I see my pup about once a week sometimes once every two weeks, when he doesn't have his ums. My male switch....maybe once a month because of his job responsibilities and his travel schedule.  I've been seeing my female switch about once a week.  The young kitten just got a new job and I haven't seen him for 2 weeks now.  So, therein lies the rub.  None are collared because they can't make that kind of committment yet. I do consider myself very fortunate to have all the members of my "family" though, and do thoroughly enjoy the time I get to spend with them.
