pettingdragons -> a slave's pets (4/21/2008 6:16:24 AM)

This is going to be a silly question but it gives some food for thought on giving up control and receiving responsibility.
If a Master collars a girl who has pets (real four legged ones please [:D] lol) does he also have to collar the girls pets (besides just accepting responsibility for them).

If I collar a boy who has pets, I don't feel as though I should collar his pets as well. As far as taking responsibility for my boys animals, I would not. They are his, he should take the responsibility of caring for them. Just because I collar their owner, does not mean I am now taking responsibility for their daily care. Financially, if they were injured, I would pay for the vet bill. But clean up the cat box? Take the dogs for a walk? No thank you.

But this is just me, others may see it differently.

Collaring a pet no way in hell, if the slave has them they are his/her responsibiliy.  If I wanted a pet I would have one, certainly not take over ownership of one just because it belonged to the slave before I had them.  Not that I have a problem in general with a slave having a pet, it's just not my responsibiliy.

If you look at a collar as the rough equivalent to a vanilla wedding ring, would you expect Him to marry your pets?

He may enjoy having them around, but they are your responsibility.  Cute question, though.

No, but she might have to find them another home if she wants to live with me.

Heh, interesting thought!

I wouldn't let my Dom control my pets though, my pets are my responsibility and I'm afraid I couldn't handle giving up my cats for someone if it came to that.

hopelessfool -> RE: a slave's pets (4/21/2008 10:41:10 AM)

It depends on how attached my D type would get to my cat. Pebbles, if she likes you is one of the most darling little creatures in the world. She wiggles her way into your heart to where you just cant say no to her. So If my D type collared me I would say he takes her along as well because theres nothing in the world besides it being for her betterment that could make me give up that cat. If we then moved in, with how I know that darling little brat, he would probably take some responsbility to her. Exs in the past have come over seen that the food bowl was an inch below the rim and filled it because they know "she likes it best filled over the top of the rim of the bowl"  (I refuse to give in to the demands of my cat when it comes to how full her bowl MUST be, anything else Im a total softy)

But in general I take responsiblity of her, its just now and again someone beats me to the punch. Even my mother and Advid HATER of cats checks in when Im not in my room and dumps her bowl of tap water and fills it with bottled water... >.<;;

Hahaha, awe Hopeless, your mother is the worst cat hater ever. [&:]

DiurnalVampire -> RE: a slave's pets (4/21/2008 10:49:24 AM)

I do not own pets myself, becasue I cant. Angel is allergic. Fox does have pets, they live at home with his family. We refer to them as my pup-in-laws. They are his responsability, and becasue of my other boy, I could not have one in my home. I like living vicariously through other peoples animals, but I would not assume responsability for one as part of owning my boys.

I agree, every cat shes ever been in contact before the Queen of the house (its what my mother calls her... Queen pebbles do you want some tuna for lunch today instead of that Icky old cat food?) I have watched this woman take a cat and nearly throw it out of her house before or refuse to feed, clean, pet, or care for. But with pebbles its like she has need to care for the little brat. (shes so fat now she cant even lay on her back to strech as she used to... I have to assist her in this) But as with most "cat dispisers" no one seems to be able to look at pebbles (once shes deemed you worthy enough to be in her presence) and go "I hate that cat" or "Its not my responsiblitly".

Edited to add: Even those with allergys to cats, have not been able to resist her. I swear one day, she will take over the world

This question was ment at in a fun loving way.....its a cute funny question...
Master and girl where talking about collars and girls dog (whose name is River Girl, so allot of the third person girl talk can get really confusing between the dog and girl) came over with her collar....so it came to mind....collaring the dog when collaring the slave... [sm=cactus.gif]

Some of you have mentioned that you would not take responsibility for a slaves animals (pets) would you expect a slave to care for a Masters pets?
Just curious....girl has hybrids that are not trusting so girl is teaching Master how to handle girl dog...LOL love the conversations....[sm=duck.gif]

*giggles*  This reminds me of when I first got my puppy.

He was sort of a gift from a friend who didn't want him anymore......at the time my Master and i were states apart and I needed a friend.

When I told Master about the puppy he was so mad......I remember the conversation "How could you get a dog without telling me.  how are we going to have your dog, mine, and the cat all under one roof."  He went on and on and on.  I felt so bad.  When  had decided to call my puppy "Baby" I got lectured on how Master wasn't going to walk a dog and shout "Come here baby" to bring him inside" I was blown away.......I didn't realize he was such a softy for small dogs who are cute and cuddly....or maybe he was a softy because I loved the puppies so much....anyway, long story short.....he didn't want to have a new responsability......but he saw how much in love i was with my baby and so he wanted to take in both of us......

but that was a long time ago...[&:]....I hope my next Master will love the pair of us....

Actually, one of the major deciding factors in deciding NOT to persue a relationship with a girl stemmed from her pet.

I am vehemently against people keeping wild animals as pets, or the hybrid cross of such. She had a wolf/dog hybrid. I told her that she either had to find another home for it or it would have to be spayed and caged at her expense. Also once that animal passed away, it would not be replaced with a similar pet.

It was one of many, points of contention.

How do you feel about beagles?[sm=kiss.gif]

LaTigresse -> RE: a slave's pets (4/21/2008 2:04:02 PM)

Beagles are ADORABLE! To me, they look like puppies forever. Very very cute.

<FR>
Greetings,
I'm afraid I am very much a 'love me, love my dog' kind of gal. I have owned him since he was a wee puppy. He's 4 now and still a relatively small dog...Peek-A-Poo to be exact. He's cute and very smart and I could never part with him until his time to leave me comes. I've had animals before, but never one who has gotten so deeply into my heart.

Furry regards,

ps77

LilMissHaven -> RE: a slave's pets (4/21/2008 2:27:13 PM)

I warn any perspective Dom's that I have a weakness for animals especially sick or hurt animals that have a tendancy to "follow" me home.

I have 2 dogs, I think probably 10 cats roaming the farm, a mended owl that refuses to move out of the barn, a once runt of the litter pig thats so obese he's on a diet but he has a name and you can't eat something with a name, 13 horses, a guinea pig that someone was just going to let go in the wild to end up as road kill...there's more but you get the picture.

It was never a problem with J since I didn't ask him to support or care for my animals, they're my friends I'm glad to do see their needs are met and more.

ResidentSadist -> RE: a slave's pets (4/21/2008 3:34:17 PM)

I have been in situations where I have taken pets/kids etc as my own.  I have also been in a position where “no pets were allowed” and a slave got rid of her pet in order to move in with me.

i did hybrid rescue for the Missouri Fish and Wildlife for three years.  i am also against breeding of hybrids for pleasure or pets. River is a coyote hybrid and a therapy dog and used for educational purposes.pamela
