Status: offline 		My 4wheel drive truck sits in the garage and collects dust most of the time. I love it, it loves gas, gas is expensive, I like eating and having a roof over my head and all the luxuries of life........like electricity and running water.

It conveys more self assurance to drive a car that you actually WANT to drive, not what others expect you to drive. Drive what you like, don't drive something that you perceive to be giving off the image of dominance. It's a mentality, not a manufactured appearance.

I am not interested in anyone shallow enough to be impressed by my car.  If she is going to be impressed with anything I would rather it be my character or my intellect.  Perhaps that is why I drive a tiny 1989 Honda CRX and BSB is happy to sit next to me.

The domination is high rent.  It’s the ride that’s going to be low rent. 
 It's for a riverfront townhouse in Florida w/o a garage so the car is disposable because the sun will kill it in a few years.  I'm not even buying a new one or an antique.  It’s just to hold me over while I’m in Daytona Beach.

yes i hear you there...i have a big old oldsmobile that sits idle most of the time because it guzzles the gas, the honda is more moderate....still, a big truck is sexy to me, gas guzzler or not!

Strangely enough, it was an ex slave that suggested I get a pick up truck.  She is also the girl that called me from the road one day and said "you gotta come see this car now"... turns out it was a 1970 Olds 98 Convertable with 455 Rocket V8.  I snatached it up. 

Anyway, I trust her taste in vehicles.  She's a good girl and I used to think like you, girls don't like trucks.  However, in the years we were together, she picked out a new F-150 and Jeep Sport all on her own, hence this poll.

Dude, the point was chics & trucks not cash.  I'm an old fart that spent most of his youth in the city.  I never knew chics dug trucks until a few years ago.

-=2 mpg Story=-
I have to tell my 2 mpg story.  As mentioned earlier, I came into a 1970 Olds with a huge 455 ci V8.  When I first got it, would put the top down and drive it a few miles to work and back every day.  The damn thing used a whole tank of gas in the first week.  So, I marked the mileage and measure it the following week.  It was about 2 miles a gallon.  I was astonished and thought I must not have kept the notes correctly.  After having driven it for 2 weeks I finally decided I could part with it for a day to get some custom wheels and tires.  My slave followed me there so I could leave the car. 

On the way home, my slave mentioned she had the solution to my gas mileage mystery.  She said while following me, when I took off, gas poured out from behind the license plate like a garden hose was on.  It seems that after 30 years the rubber seal on the gas cap had eroded completely.  A $3 gas cap fixed it and I got about 12 mpg after that.
