I find that shaving, while nice, lasts just about as long as it takes me to walk back to my desk before I start getting stubble again. Then shaving again soon after that leads to a lot of skin irritation, mostly in the form of those red shaving bumps and whatnot. Quite painful.

I've tried Nair, and it's again alright the first time, but doesn't work very thoroughly, nor for more than a couple days longer than shaving.

So I've been considering waxing, both genitals, and legs (as per the requests of my lady :P). Additionally, I love keeping my head shaved during the warmer months, like now, but am looking for aslightly longer-term solution than the shaving I mentioned above.

BOTTOM LINE however, I worry about the long-term effects of waxing, as I've heard that with repeated waxing, it actually thins out the hair that does grow back over time. Is there any truth to this? I certainly don't feel like artificially making myself bald full-time. Any truth to this? Or should I wax without worry?

Any advice on the situation, waxing or otherwise, would help greatly. Thank you. :)

Doc

P.S. I ask this here because I wasn't able to find the info I was looking for using the search function, and because this waxing I speak of is more or less in the realm of the D/s relationship I am in.

Now granted your and my anatomy is different, but i have been waxing for years, or rather have been paying some one to wax me for years, the only affect that i have seen is that successive waxing makes the hairs finer and easier to pull out. i had to for financial reasons give up the waxing for a few months and have since started again and i noticed a huge difference in the texture of the hair, suffered from more bumps and such while shaving than i ever had with the waxing.

I wouldn't wax your head as repeated waxing makes the hairs finer...you might not want that on your head. However, elsewhere, if you plan to keep it clean, its wonderful. The only down side to waxing is you have to let it grow out more than shaving in order to have enough hair to be able to wax the next time. (Hmmm...that was rather long winded. Did that make sense?) I love it...I'll never go back to shaving! No razor burn, not as many ingrown hairs...and its smoother for longer! I love it.

I love the after efffects of waxing... hate having to wait for it to grow out so I can get it smooth....

I'm trying laser now.. pewpew!

As of yet, it hasn't made much of a difference. >:(

Is it true that for some people waxing is as ineffective as shaving is cause it starts to grow back in 2 or 3 days, instead of weeks and weeks?

After years of waxing and epilady-ing, there are areas on my legs where no hair grows at all.  Eventually the hair gets fine and the follicles just die out--so I do NOT recommend it for the head!

YourHand, the speed of hair growth is not affected by waxing.  I am not hairy, but I DO have fast growing hair, so a waxing really only lasts a week or so on me before there is serious stubble.

ok have not read thread yet - but wanted to drop in with most recent experience.  I get a brazillian as often as I have extra dough for such. A couple times a year.  I thought hey - this could totally be done with a home kit.  Got kit.  Got sub. Heated wax.  Laid back.  Yeooooooow!!!!! Sub suddenly gets all dommy on me - and now ai am covered in wax with no way out but forward.  Well he had a blast torturing me and then later when I put him back in his place I had a blast too.  And then there was an uber smooth pussy to play with....I'd do it again.

oh and by the end of it his technique was significantly improving...smart boy.
