Shhhh, camille. Keep in mind that it's not against the law to not file if the gov'ment owes you $$ in the form of a return. I'm not a lawyer, thank gawd, and things may have changed, as they do, but this used to be the case. If one does owe taxes, it's best, imo, to see a good tax accountant and file, even if one can't pay the back tax , penalties and interest. The IRS is willing to negotiate monthly payments in such cases and is far more sympathetic to those who make a good faith effort than to those that they find otherwise. Then, as Mr. Snipes found out, they are relentless and take a scortched earth approach to make an example of them.
