Sit down and decide what you want in a partner.

Get out and meet folks.

Find one (or two, or ten) that you hit it off with.

Start finding out if they "fit" into what you want.

Don't worry too much about what labels are used. You won't fall in love, or lust, with a label.

What Level said.

Also a suggestion for the original poster:

Go back and make a list of those "more experienced doms" who tried to intimidate you with a quiz about the twue distinctions between slave and submissive.Write the word "Knuckleheads" at the top, centered, in bold. Keep the list handy for ready reference any time you're trying to decide whom to avoid socializing with or asking for advice.

To me, slave is one considered owned by both in the relationship.  That is the *only* difference between the two that means anything in my life.

Of course, I stand by what I said regarding labels.

Are you happy? Is your partner happy? Then hells bells, kiss the ground and be glad, and get on with life, while you can.

I love Level...
oh wait, this isn't the crush thread...

seriously, from what I have seen here, and from my own relationship, the longer you are with someone the less important the label becomes.  what is important is establishing your own dynamic to ensure the longevity of your relationship.

as a slave I consent to everything He wishes..reserving only my right to walk away from the relationship

I am choosing to be in a relationship where I have no choices

I am, agreeing that my agreement is not necessary

I am deciding to have no say in decision makiing

meessed up huh?

No not messed up. Absolutely spot on and clear.....I have underlined what you said that made complete and absolute sound sense to me.
