Personally, I don't see the appeal of an automatic revolver.  It's the worst of both worlds. You have the limited magazine capacity and more complicated reload process, AND the increased likelihood of a mechanical failure from the extra moving parts.

Next on my gun list is a good 30.06 with a scope.  To the anti-gun crowd, that would be a "sniper's rifle" of course.

Rich, it's obvious that you'll be going on a murderous rampage any time now. [X(]

christine1 -> RE: Mateba revolver...I want one really bad. (4/26/2008 7:29:09 AM)

so, what do you think about the possibilities of making a sawed-off street sweeper?  i was really hoping to make a way for it to fit into my purse....

Rich won't, he's far too much of a pacifist, aren't you Rich?

I, on the other hand, would be sorely tempted to grab Rich's guns and go out for practice... on moving targets [8D] .

Exactly what I was thinking. I wouldn't mind adding one of the old Webley's to the collection because it's interesting, but can't see ponying up big bucks for a modern one that I'd have to wait to see if it will become a good collector piece (though I do believe that that's where this revolver will head, as I doubt it's going to be a mass produced success)

Hm, let's see. Virtually every semi-automatic pistol uses a barrel that can be removed and replaced in under two minutes, usually without any tools. The practice of criminals replacing barrels to impede investigations after a shooting is unheard of. Obviously, a spectacularly rare barrel-swapping revolver, with nearly unobtainable parts, would be a felon's dream.

Nice to see people don't need to have any knowledge to weigh in as an authority on a given topic though. The Internet would be no fun without ignorami.

Goes to show how badly you know me... I wouldn't shoot Republicans: they don't deserve to die simply because they are misled.

No, the moving target I have in mind at the moment is a lone collarme poster whose favourite sport is to pepper threads with ambiguous comments accusing others of garnering attention because he is unable to do so for himself without trolling.

He is the ultimate post-modern troll... mouhahahahaha, I can see how people would get into this gun thing... Yeah! Orgasmic. YEAH! [8D]

Level, if that was my plan, I could accomplish a lot more with an 18-wheeler on the freeway [8|]

Kitten, you'd never get past my primary home security system.

You're so goddam earnest, it's the cutest fucking thing I've seen in a long time [:D] . (Do I sound 'local' yet?)

TheHeretic -> RE: Mateba revolver...I want one really bad. (4/26/2008 8:05:34 AM)

I'm just practical, Kitten.  Guns are often less than the illusion of home security.  If criminals know you have them, it makes you more of a target for burglary.  When was the last time you heard someone talking about "they broke in and stole my Rottweilers?"

I fully realise this, which is why it's puzzling that anybody with a concern for home safety would stock burglar magnets in there. But I'm sure you have your reasons :-) .

Hello Scuhey

In answer to your question about rarity: yes it is rare.

Most illegal guns are working replicas and aren’t so rare or hard to obtain. This gun symbolises a dangerous idea that we are lucky the criminals may not have cottoned on to, or these guns would no doubt be replicated all over the place. Of coarse people wanking over an idea of a gun on the internet helps the spread of this idea. I know your freedom of speech bullshit speech comes next and yet you won't let anyone publish nuclear research papers?

Humm double standard?
