I'm a Domina and I **adore** corsets and enjoy wearing them. I think it had more to do with My fetishistic side than anything D/s related. I love the way it hugs Me. I live the way that I feel I have control over the way My body is shaped. I love the look. I love the way people respond to Me when I'm wearing one. I love wearing them under My regualr clothes and being the only one that knows.

Yes, there might be certain medical side effects to extended tight lacing. Generally, just wearinga corset isn't harmful per se. And you are right, wearing a corset does hamper your breathing, but it is the same way the diaphragm is impeded when someone is pregnant or obese. It doesn't kill them. . .but it makes breathing more difficult.

I've started to tightlace (18 hours a day) and I'll keep you posted as to My progress (if interested)

I love the feeling of being constricted; I adore the pressure it puts on myself, the breathing slows, the breasts pop out more, the movements are trained to become more elegant... I love having myself walked in during the day. I adore them really.

I suppose it is because I rarely breath when having sexual relations with another, it brings the mind to a different place.

It is like binding them with a piece of clothing that makes one beautiful.

Then again I wear a bodice every weekend as I work at the Ren Faire.

which renfair do you work at? I dont recall seeing a wench walking in stocks at the Penna Renfair parade.

back to topic - while I thoroughly enjoy the female form in a corset (love that hourglass shape), I must state that it can be taken too far - like a woman with 44DD's, a 14 inch waist, and 36 inch hips - she just looks too much like some kind of insect for me to appreciate the sacrifice she has made in molding her body over the course of (no doubt) many years to achieve that form - but dammit its just not aesthetially pleasing to me

I work at the NY Ren Faire in Tuxedo, NY. We have a torture chamber/dungeon where we set up all of the devices and it is like a museum. It is quite nice, very informative. Inside we also have a "Weapons of War" show, where I am stationed. We have like 10-17 weapons we show off, explain, answer questions, tell staories about... then we hand you the weapons so you can see it. I love the job.

I would like to take this opportunity to recommend pilates and yoga to potential corset wearers. Having a strong stomach and a stron back are helpfull/essential when wearing a corset. (For the times that you're out of it.

I love it as well. The way you describe it is exactly how I feel. In fact, my body is naturally shaped to wear corsets: large chest & hips, small waist. However, I do not tight lace for extended periods of time. I wear them on occasion.

It's interesting that you mentioned that because good posture is a factor in wearing a corset comfortably/successfully, and Windsor Pilates was something that I found effective in improving my daughter's posture.
When I was a girl, the women in my family were famous for coming up behind any of the girls and slapping them in the middle of the back with, "Stand up straight!!!" voiced sternly and loudly, at any given time. Whether we were sitting, or standing. I am noticing these days, that girls are walking around slumped over, demonstrating horribly poor posture!!!
My son is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Trainer, and has her in training. When she started complaining about her "weight", which was right about the time she got the "boyfriend"

, he recommended Windsor Pilates. Her posture, as a result, has improved dramatically.
So it seems Pilates covers several areas there!

Ballet is amazng for posture (and grace and confidence, etc.). The basic ballet class has been perfected over 400 years to really shape your body. I love Pilates, but there is nothing like a ballet class.

In a related note I heard from my chiropracter that a back should be 7 times as strong as the abodmen. In Americans it is something ridiculous like 20 times as strong. Not because our backs are strong but because our abs are so lousy.

Hello,

As Taggard said, dancing is fabulous for muscle development. Ballet is probably one of the best, but even the Jitterbugging I do is etching my abdominal muscles as I struggle to maintain my upper body on top of my center of gravity so I dont throw partners into speakers.

The amusing thing is that after a night of dancing my abs ache, and I have not done anything the entire night but stood up straight, maintained my balance, and made my partners dizzy.

Hello A/all... i haven’t had chance to fully explore all of the topics posted here on this message board yet.
When i came upon this topic of corsetry, a rush of excitement overwhelmed me.... Tight lacing as well as bondage has been a passion of mine for what seems like forever.
“Oh” how i envied as a young child while watching cowboy movies, wishing i would look like a bar room girl with her tight corset and black stockings when I grow up.
“Well that was around forty years ago”
Over passing years i’ve been in and out of tight lacing corsetry, sitting comfy laced closed at 24 inches. (It’s said that when a corset is laced closed that it’s too big and ought to be replaced so as to have at least 2 inches to meet)
During my training i had the honour of having the attention and consideration of two Lace Masters, both of whom i kneel to their expertise and they will always have my adoration… i achieved my goal to reduce from 28 inches to 24. Reducing more than 4 inches is considered to be the limit within tight lacing commonsense. At times being out of corset become a far worse torture than pushing my limits of endurance in it… my body craved to adjust without it’s rigid support…. my mind became an endless battle for control and will power… *smiles its was easier to keep it on.
Through dedication self-awareness/consideration, exercise, diet and meditation, a serious tight lacer knows their boundaries… A Dom with a flogger helps when one throws the corset down in front of Him and says that’s it, all over and i release it from my life.
You get over that stage… *smile
For those with a serious interest please keep in mind, there are lots of rules and regulations attached to tight lacing…mostly commonsense. For instance, don't eat a large meal within several hours prior to wearing a corset. Eat small meals, and avoid fatty or hard to digest foods. If you are planning on lacing tightly especially, it is important that there is a little something in your intestines, because apparently they can stick together if empty. So eat lots of small meals of starchy food. Until you become accustomed to wearing corsets go gently with the constriction. Gain awareness of what can happen if you over-do it.
Corsetry has recently become very popular, and for this reason it is very important that information regarding the dangers of using them for body modification be a must in understanding, so read all U can.
Self respect for ones body is ALL of the motivation needed to succeed while tight lacing. Pain is beauty, but broken ribs or damaged organs are crossing the boundaries of self-respect.
Its an emotional thing to break in a corset, one becomes humble as it becomes ones Mistress… i called my last steel spring one the ‘Devil Gown’ The torture and tears that came with it…. the suffering just to get past the hour of the day before.
Was it worth it? …Indeed it is…

This is an extract from my personal diary which i wrote while in training for a 48 hour bondage session to be in corset at all time.........

The Devil Gown

Another day starts with dread of the usual feelings of facing my demons.
To submit once again to endure and transcend the pitiless torment from One so mighty ‘yet One so worthy of my attention’ ...
Being bound by this captor, who's as demonic as is a familiar spiritual teacher. To corroborate with its intentions of governing my weakness in order to teach discipline and self-control….
Can such pain be so much pleasure?
To be used as an instrument for the sake of visual art to this One who Dominates…One who commands nothing less than perfection through obedience. To stately performance with elegance whilst wrapped in the embrace of such misery, as a partisan would hold true their loyalty of the cause…i hold my head high with humble pride so as to be courtly presented for others to view…I submit and worship this new form of dedication with its daunting, helpless feelings to succumb to its grasp
Stroking my body as it shape shifts with burning flames of pain searing through my ribs as I feel my insides being forced to adjust to such barbaric torture.
My mind pleading for grace knowing that the only way out is to slip into that space of meditation and tranquillity through freedom of thought, working through the tougher times where the only safe word is ‘release’…once past the defiance of such a dreaded thought…acceptance rules the distance.
Its all down to the trusting my own judgment and insight to over-ride the intolerable paradox of emotions, where success and failure entwine like a serpent in some trance of ecstasy…and the constant obsession of that desire to serve…
I yield to the crown of the conqueror…………..and surrender to my passion…to dance with the Devil Gown and all Her Glory.

I started doing pilates to enhance my yoga, which is a passion of mine. I think that both give you a wonderful sense of balance, inside and out. Body awareness is so important and every body is so unique. Call me a hippie...etc., but it's true. I think that yoga is a wonderful practice and is accessible to everyone. I'm happy that your daughter has seen benefits from her practice and continues to work at the art.

Hey Y'all-
I view yoga as a self-disciplinary, yet fluid way to feel good energeticaly, stay centered in my body and tone myself and work on flexibility. I think the fact that your body sets new challenges for itself every time you practice is where the allure lies for me. I also like the no-rules aspect of yoga. Certainly, there are basic postures and a multitude of poses and sequences, but the combinations are endless. I can do power yoga that is comparable to aerobics and is hard and leaves me breathless and worn out and 'clear' and energized all at the same time or I can do interpretive yoga (other end of the spectrum) where I feel stretched and decompressed and calm and ready for a nap. Perhaps it's self hypnosis. Never thought of that..... ANYHOO- I'm not sure how this relates to the original topic, but it's what I think, and I'm sure that parallels can be drawn between the two. Both long term corsetry and serious yoga practice are forms of self control. They both take constant practice and true dedication. Perhaps that is the allure...

WelL I just recently purchased a silk lace up corset and i love it! it makes me feel extrremely sexual, sensual and i think it looks great! however it is not good to play in for me. There is no back area exposed except the shoulders and the lower buttock area. So even though it looked good it wasnt functional for a flogging or most play activies, for me, since you also do not want to damage something that expensive.

I do need assistance in getting it laced so thats something that needs to be considered and even when its not for waist reduction it is a tight fit and some activities such as driving are MUCH more difficult.
