As i tend to be pretty open about most things, i'd be a tad embarrassed but nothing big. Chances are, they'd never mention it anyway. If they did i'd probably ask if they had any questions... and i'm not ashamed of being who or what i am.

i'd die. One of the reasons i do not have a pic, or my real name on Collar Me, because my ex-mother-in-law used to harass my husband and i by creating a profile, then spy on us. Her interference in my marriage caused 50% of my divorce by the way.

My two oldest sons (ages 17 and 20) are aware of my visiting the site. I used to try and hide where I was, or only visit when they weren't home, etc, but as they grew older it just became less of an issue. We have always been open about sexual topics. I told them when they were young that I was available to discuss any topic with them, short of giving details about my own actions. I feel, as a parent, when my children come to me with valid questions, I am obligated to give them good information. They have both come to me on separate occasions about their own sexuality questions ('mom, I'm not sure if I like boys or girls' as an example). The middle one has also found a well hidden toybag while 'plundering', and we had a longer discussion about respect for privacy than about the articles he found. His only comment on the leather restraints was 'that looks cool, I might like to try that one day'. We did NOT explore which role he would be using them in.

My mother knows, is fine with it, and is really the only person in my family who I care about anyway. I'm estranged from my father for a number of reasons, but if he found out, he'd hardly be the one to judge – he's a far more severe masochist than I am ( my mother is vanilla ). My two step-siblings I don't know well enough to judge, but if they'd distance themselves from me for it, then I wouldn't want to know them anyway. My granparents are dead. I have no other family.

i have nothing to be ashamed about...i think most of my friends secretly envy my freedom in regards to my sex life and the kink aspect just spices it up for them. Anyone that is close to me knows already - i really attempt authenticity in my relationships~

I really wouldn't want details of my sex life discussed over the dinner table. I don't want to know if my sister in law uses a strap on or if my cousins like to be whipped. So if someone boasted they were here, I would wonder about why they needed to share that to me a lot more than I would have any interest in sharing.

I would not be comfortable if my parents knew or found my profile on this site...although I am sure they kind of have an idea on the back of their minds as they know what kind of relationships I like to be in (meaning where I call the shots) but I am sure my mother would be distressed of hearing if I spanked or whipped girls as I was taught to never hit a woman for any reason (I live by that but in this lifestyle its different in that it is consensual and for enjoyment)...however if they did find me I would ask them too how they found me, because to find this website you have to look for something lifestyle related. Same if my cousins or other family members found me. I would be more concerned if my employer found me, however it goes back to the same question, what were they doing here in the first place? I would not mind it if it was my cousins as long as they were cool with it and I would be cool knowing they are also into this lifestyle, hehe. I am shocked at how uptight some people are, luckily in my family we are not like that and we are very close, I have to say the same for my extended family.

If you are in a position that people finding out what you are into could cause problems then you should be more careful about hiding your identity. If you put your picture out there on the web you therefore have to take the responsibility for the fact that someone is going to call you out on it. It was her fault and soley her fault that she lost her job. No one made her have a profile on a open, public, website. She CHOSE to place one. Everything in life comes with risk. She took the risk and lost. There will always be close minded, narrow opinionated people that will freak out against anything they don't consider normal. You have to deal with it, people will not change overnight. Those of us that dare to be ourselves and are on the other side or the considered norm need to decide how open to be about our lifestyle choices. Which also means accepting the responsibility that our personal choices may effect our professional lives or personal relationships at some point.

Overall, it's a naive response....Many people out here are possibly in a position in their life or in a career that would not be affected by an "outing." Few people that deal with a professional public probably have that luxury.
