Hello folks. I just wrote my profile yesterday; is it kosher to ask here on the forum for constructive criticism?

If so, please click on my name and see the profile. I wrote in considerable detail so women would know before writing whether or not we had much potential - but I'm concerned that it might be too "negative" for the first impression (i.e., when I say no smoking during playtime and that I'm not all that submissive), or that it might just be too long.

Thanks, Fiddlegirl

good evening,

We are supposed to be kosher here?*laughs*

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with asking for constructive critisism, however; when your in an open forum be prepared you may not always get the answers you seek or answers you like.

That being said, I like your profile. I think it is very specific and straight to the point. You dont leave people wondering what you are looking for or not looking for. It also to me shows that you put some thought into those things and into your profile itself.

I wish you luck and blessed be,

Nika{Phoenix}

Frankly it's a little longer than I suggest profiles to be, but the style, frankness, color, attitutde, is just about perfect.

I might post more about myself in general rather than just kinky too, but really, A-1 profile IMO.

I read your profile and I thought it was quite good. You spelled out what you're looking for, and what your preferences are, which you don't always see. You probably won't get an avalanche of responses, but with the way that you spelled things out, the responses that you do get are more likely to be from people that are more aligned with your interests than people that are just fishing for anything and everything.

Best of luck with your search

Anolpheles- yeah but if you're a chick and you put nothing but the word "aardvark" in your profile, you're going to get a good 2 emails a day from anyone and everythone.

It's a good profile. If you shorten it then you might leave out something important so i would so just leave it as it is. If ever you want to add something you can always use the journal feature to do so. With your profile as is you will weed out many of those who won't be compatible with you.
Good luck with your search!

Midear Fiddlegirl-

I found it well written, easily read (if a tad long) and over all give it a seven- add a photo for an eight.

I might , strictly for stylistic reasons, remove
>>>Here are some details about who I am and who I'm looking for. Please write if you think we may have some common ground.
<<< and >>>Cheers, Fiddlegirl<<< from your opening, and >>>Having said that, I realize that folks at Collarme tend more to the D/s end of the pool than to S&M; I'd be open to trying out the submissive role part-time to see how it goes.<<< from the first paragraph.

That brings us up to a nine, I think. Shorten it by about a paragraph or so, and we'd make a ten. Don't be too concerned about leaving things out- that's what email is for.

Overall a great ad, just as it is.

Good luck in the hunt,
Stay warm,
Lawrence

I think it's well done. I like long, clear profiles and yours is just that. Also, the color is interesting w/out being impossible to read.

Good luck to you!

I think these kind of threads are self advertising personnally.

I'd say it's a good profile, except that you're neither dominant nor interested in gentlemen, so I guess you could improve.
...Seriously ? dunno. I bet that not having a picture on your profile might save you from receiving several hundreds of messages from guys... every week.

edit : About your profile being too long : if someone can't bother to spend 1 minute reading a profile, s/he might not be worth spending more than 1 minute with.

I might agree- but they are clever, if that...

Dear EM-

I just did that, as an experiment name: aardvark, state:aardvark, Height:aardvark and in the text: aardvark! (but in big pink letters<g>) I did it about an hour ago-

did you know that the mailbox maxes out at 500 letters waiting?

Stay warm,
Lawrence

Midear Em-

I HATE your profile. It seriously sucks monkey cock. It makes me cry everytime I see it.

But it only needs one thing to be utterly wonderful- change the location to Long Island, New York.

And change the first line to 'desperately seeking Topcat'

Stay warm,

Lawrence

I think it looks pretty good.

You explain well what you are looking for, your situation, and what you are not looking for.

I think you could put a photo on it though. I have heard that profiles with photos get ten times as many replies.

Good luck in your search.

*grin* Missed your chance, I lived in NJ for two years.

I'm sure fate will allow you to get your hands on me a few times.

Yup, it's well written and doesn't contain the usual atrocious spelling and grammar errors found in so many others. Yes it's a little long but that's okay as long as it realistically describes YOU. I do think you should add a photo though; even Vanilla, to round it out and finish it.

Topcat,

I disagree, but what if they are? Isn't advertising ourselves part of the reason for being here? Hardly reprehensible, in my view.

Bob

Oh yeah.....great profile!

Bob,
I'm experiencing deja vu!

But like I said then - it's a GREAT marketing idea - wish I thought of it when I was starting my quest!
