Actually, no they don't. The paper 'mailed' checks don't come for awhile yet. Those with direct-deposited tax returns are beginning to see theirs today but it's still going by the schedule, just moved up a few days.

Ironically a big part of mine is going to pay off my winter gas and utility bills. blinks*

Yeah, mine will be going as part of a 'surprise' payment to someone I've owed for awhile since the enconomy dipped a bit. This person's been pretty cool about not asking because they knew I didn't have it. Now that I will, I'll just 'increase' their tax rebate all on my own.

I was going to spend it all on My Mistress  -what a shame i do not have one .. so the buxs will make it so i can eat through the summer , pay down some medical bills ,and have a nicer trip to Thunder in the Mountains  in July ,buy some gas  and stamps now before the rate increase .Archer your so right about the cars , i was going to sell a couple of my old classics then i saw how much a new car is .Now i plan to rebuild 3 motors  and one transmission and keep 3 and sell one .Besides a honda may get better milage  but a 19641/2 mustang  makes a better roar .[:)]

Nope...only those with taxable income (as a single filer) below $75,000.00 (might be $72,000.00 or similar) or double that (or similar) as a couple.

You must file a 2007 tax return in order to receive it.  There are groups of people who usually don't file a return, but if they want a check they must file by Oct 15, 2008.
