Dmon -> Fire play info (4/29/2008 1:43:29 PM)

Does anyone know of a good website on fire play. I've learned the basic's about safety, and proper use with torches, and cups, from a friend of mine, but I"d like to expand my knowledge base before I convince some one to help me practice.

Thanx for all your help

It's not a website, but David Walker wrote a good book on Fire play. Check it out, I believe it's available on Amazon.

YEs that's the same book I've seen and scanned through several times it has really good information, some of the research came rom the same guy I learned Fireplay from in Austin Tx years ago. In fact I beleive Dr Rubel (co author) and I were both in the same class at Texas Leather Pride that year.

Along with web sites and books before you venture into this area finding an experienced mentor is a good idea...some thing as best learned in real life [sm=flameout.gif]

I don't know where you are, but I know that Archer is quite skilled and knowledgable with fireplay. Perhaps if you ask, maybe He will give you some pointers.

Sorry, no. The only things I burn is steaks.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Fire play info (4/29/2008 6:17:09 PM)

I built www.firewhips.com for a good friend and professional fire performer.  It is real white gas stuff though, not alcohol.  He in designed some special fire floggers and flaming bullwips.  I know he has some videos and stuff too.

OldBastardly1 -> RE: Fire play info (4/29/2008 6:40:30 PM)

I would like to know more about the fire floggers.

Dmon -> RE: Fire play info (4/29/2008 7:55:04 PM)

I saw a fire flogger used a few weeks ago at a dungeon party.... Yeah, I wanna be that good one day.

Archer -> RE: Fire play info (4/29/2008 8:18:14 PM)

I'm about confident enough to start working on the fire floggers now (always had the worry about flaming cast off) but I think I can likely control it enough now to be safe, years after many folks who I started doing fireplay before have been doing it.

I'm actually presenting my Fireplay class again this weekend at ARM Atlanta Regional Munch.

chellekitty -> RE: Fire play info (4/29/2008 10:51:50 PM)

here's that book by David Walker and Bob Rubel on Erotic Fire Play  and above all else, i recomend you learn from someone else in person...there are people all over the country willing to teach what they know if you but seek them out and ask at appropriate times and places...

anyway...i don't know if i am just a pain pig or what but fire flogging never did anything for me but make a big "look at me, look at me" show for the top...note that i am a bottom...lol...in the realm of hot things, i like branding much better...cautery pen anyone?

I would like to know more about the fire floggers.

The run on white gas/kerosene.  They burn for about 3-4 minutes.  The air rushing through them makes them louder than a freight train.  They are really, really scary for both top, bottom and audience.  With a pair being used you can feel the heat over 20 feet away.

You should only work with a spotter who has a fire extinguisher.  You can use fire floggers indoors with a high ceiling on a fireproof floor. They are a major RUSH… and Riz who designed them is a genius.

-=The genius of it=-
The fire floggers have 18 inch falls and are stitched every 6 inches.  The first 12 inches by the handle are 3 layers think but the last 6 inches are only 2 layers.  The end burns out after a little while and you can make contact with flesh when it does.  What happens when you make contact with the unlit ends is that the falls suddenly spread out and make the lit part burst into a huge flair up.  It looks and feels like you are hitting someone with fire because of the big fiery FLASH and roaring POOF sound.

Just awesome stuff.

OldBastardly1 -> RE: Fire play info (4/30/2008 4:44:47 AM)

Do you know where a set of fire floggers can be found?

Archer, I am sure that you have sources, but if you need to find a nomex hood, let me know.

Dmon -> RE: Fire play info (4/30/2008 5:14:40 AM)

There are fire floggers on that link, residantsadist put up.

Archer, if your ever in the Chicago area and don't mind a young punk switch picking at your mind a bit, let me know. I'll bye beer.

Fireplay is not something which can be learned on line which is why I will only teach hands on face to face....

OB
Archer has Nomex gloves for fire spanking but he really wants Covex (when budget allows).

ResidentSadist
A fire extinguisher is recommended for play involving flame. We use a spotter for ALL fireplay and we have a small (marine) fire extinguisher in our fireplay kit.

chellekitty
It's the 'fear factor' of fireplay that rocks me..that and a few of the things he does really hurts (love hurt). Sparkler play is uber-ouchy and devil's fire makes for evil prediciment play.

Dmon.
We (Master Archer and me) want to get to Chicago one day..soon or sooner.

OldBastardly1 -> RE: Fire play info (4/30/2008 2:13:09 PM)

Elegant, I was thinking about a nomex hood for you, for when he starts using fire floggers. It might keep your hair from blazing. I plan to use one on dbuttnz when I start playing with them.

I have always been interested in fireplay, but I would never put one of my boys in the position to try it until I had a face to face tutor. I am in a big new learning phase, where the boys have been tlaking of new stuff and I am trying to figure out new things I might like. Hypnosis is pretty easy to learn from written materials, most of the more physical stuff I am going ot have t hope there are seminars around for at some point.

I saw a facinating demo of it at a club in Chicago last october. I was facinated by it. Initially when hearing the word "fireplay", I thought it was something I would never submit to. After seeing a demo, I would definately submit. But the Dominant would have to be well trained and versed in fireplay. there is no wiggle room for mistakes.
