Definitely not a problem here. Actually, there is a problem. If I leave the jar out in the lawn too long, I might actually cause the turf to catch fire. Particularly now that the drought has hit us early and the lawn is various shades of tan, beige, and brown, with just a smattering of green.

GreedyTop -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/29/2008 11:00:34 PM)

I just put on the porch.

(that reminds me, I gotta dump the last batch.. it's been in the fridge about 8 months...)

The way the house is oriented, the sun doesn't stay on either patio, front or rear, long enough to brew the tea. :(

That sucks.  My place is east / west oriented..

I live in a suburb of Tulsa OK.  Welcome to Green Country!!!!  My fair little town has retained the small town feeling, with all the perks of living in or near a major city.

The liquor stores and smoke shops close at 9pm [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m15.gif[/image]

There is a church on every corner.  But that is okay with me, I find the various religions utterly fascinating.

However, I couldn't be more centrally-located.  Mere minutes away from family, my best friends, shopping, schools, shuffling distance from the bar.  [:D] Great schools.  Yeah, it gets hot here, but nothing is better than some fun time out in the backyard in July, because it's still 80 something degrees out in the wee hours.  I have to say, I love it here.  I have lived and visited many locales, and I cannot fathom living anywhere else.  This is my home.

And I can have sun tea all spring and summer long if I wish.  Tee hee.

I grew up in a small town (the kind where you get a phone call from some one across town when you are sitting on the john, and they ask you to light a match)...and I loved it...Now..I am living in a moderate sized town where everbody commutes to the BIG CITY.....I have lost touch with the small town feeling...<sigh>.... I miss small towns..

some day it'll be Master and me, our land, our cabin, our truck, the goats, chickens, gardens, wood piles, the forge, cats in the barn... someday.

Daytona Beach
Bikes, beach bunnies, beer, babes, bike week, beaches, boobs, more bikes and their own BDSM group... I love this little town.

i've heard there's a kick a** bazarre/ flea market there.

sappatoti -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 1:27:04 AM)

There are bizarre fleas all over this state. ;-)

favesclava -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 1:27:30 AM)

Grand Rapids Michigan. second largest city in the state. big city style with small town feel. i lived in broklyn ny and dont care for it. i love it here. most natives hate it. think they can do better in chicago or ny. hope they all leave so those who love it dont have to listen to their whining.nice restaurants, major stores, open spaces, friendly people. the auto industry is going down the drain, but health care jobs are plenty with relatively good  pay.
i will never forget the first day here when my UMs were astounded they could go outside and play with me hovering over them. .i still watched. it was a lifetime habit from living in the ny boroughs.

We live on a farm in a very small town. It is so isolated here i could (and have) gone out to the mailbox naked. It is so quiet, so peaceful....i love it.

Chloelicious -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 5:06:51 AM)

LIve in Brussels.

good things: many event happend in this city: concert, fairs, flea markets,museums, etc
Bad thing(s) No one know nobody and when you politely say Hi to your neighbours ; they look at you like you were trying to steal their wallet.

Oh my, how I miss Daytona Beach *sighs*, after living there for the best 15 years of my life.
I live in a rural area halfway between Cleveland and Erie. It has its good points and bad. The worst aspect of this town is that it is a bedroom community so there is very little business and industry. This make it difficult to find an adequate job without having to commute 30 to 60 miles one way. The upside is that is that there are all the benefits of country living.........peace and quiet, and no nosey neighbors, since in my neighborhood a person must have a minimum of 5 acres to build. Gotta love that.

Chicago

love - the fests, museums, parks, local music scene, diversity of cultures and neighborhoods, public transportation, lakefront view, shopping, food, Steve Wilkos, good wages, weather (love the cold and snow)

hate - traffic conjestion and construction, taxes and politics, public transportation (sometimes not reliable), crime and gangs, weather (during the summer months), vacant lots and houses,
