Your topic is right on time, phoenixinchains!  Just this morning, I was telling Sir that as much as I always dreamed about having a house by a lake in a RURAL area, I now prefer to just have alot of land instead so that we never have to give up the cats again :(( (See I hate it when.....post).  W/we currently live in a tucked away residential area, within spitting distance of a major city and I HATE IT!!!!  Our area's pretty nice/lots of woods, but with all the construction going on w/new f**king bldg's, I can only imagine it's just a matter of time before our trees are cut down for some f**king high rise :((

I agree with GT, Tampa isn't terrible, lots of cool people and culture. The traffic is horrible though.

GreedyTop -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 8:57:57 AM)

Cherry... traffic here is a cakewalk compared to, say... L.A./Chicago/DC/Baltimore/NYC...  which means I laugh at people who bitch about their 30 minute commute 'because of traffic'...LOL

KCherry -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 9:01:27 AM)

Yea well I have never been anywhere else so to me park blvd, us 19, i275 and the like are the center of the universe. lol.

GreedyTop -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 9:02:45 AM)

miss GreedyTop,

depends what kinda work you are looking for... theres alot of care work, cleaners (ugh!) - errm ive seen a few lately for pa's/secretaries..thats about it, they just closed the airport down so no jobs there.

GreedyTop -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 9:19:38 AM)

chaosforge -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 11:26:39 AM)

i love the beach, but don't think i'd like Hawaii. though i probly wouldn't have far to go to get supplies for fire dancing. affraid the traffic would be too much like Korea where autos can drive on the sidewalk if they fit. still were i to have a secund home, maybe i'd copy and paste our land and stick it on a Scottish mountain. Master stayed in Ireland and i've never forgiven Him for not having me there...

spinninsweetness -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 11:33:03 AM)

I live in London- love love it, compared to the place I'm from. Cornwall, surfers paradise, full fo tourists and seagulls. And no shopping!

Transport, jobs, shopping... all is better up-country!

Tampa is awesome.  Chambers, Castle, Master's Quests, Midian’s old parties, Yy and the Tampa munch group, Lifestyle Explorers club, EAS, Trident, the Cuban side of town and the food there, the Dali museum, Ybor city with hand rolled cigars from street vendors and icy shots from the bars,  the Atlantis club and all the other clubs he owns…  I sorta’ had fun when I lived near there.

my heartfelt suggestion would be to cultivate the desire to visit places you want. i've lived on three continents in very different parts of the world. i didn't like going places by myself, and the ex didn't/wouldn't take me places i wanted to go. so i didn't go anywhere. big big mistake. if i had the chance over, i'd be braver and see and go to more places.

i'm doing that more now, and it's good. sometimes scary, but good.

i lived in Daytona Beach for a short time. race week, bike week, and then spring break...it was one party rolling into the next. probably some pics of my tits are still floating around the east coast somewhere....bike week was a blast!

now, i live in so. cal close enough to hear the fireworks every night 9:30 sharp, at the "happiest place on earth." however, it is not my happiest place on earth...expensive, smoggy, and the traffic is some of the worst in the country. the weather is some of the best, tho.

you stirred up fond memories, phenixinchains. for 20 years i lived on 80 acres, 27 miles on a dirt road in wayyyyy northern cali.  oh how i loved my gardens, orchards, the creek that ran thru the property and all the animals. we really did have our very own playground.

phoenixinchains -> RE: I love / hate this town! (4/30/2008 11:55:57 PM)

fireflies. i miss running after them while Master laughs...and spring peepers.

Great weather, bad air! - I was supposed to movie to Cali back in 2000 or so. Driving from Nev, when I hit Cali coming down out of the mountains, I thought it was a brown dirt valley.  As I approached I realized it was the dirty brown smog ceiling.  I spent over a month exploring the coast from Rosarito MX, through Chula Vista, San Diego, Dana Point, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Laguna Beach, Long Beach and up to Santa Monica.  I turned down a very lucrative business move because my product was processed in Irvine and Anaheim.  I just couldn’t take the pollution.

GreedyTop -> RE: I love / hate this town! (5/1/2008 7:23:03 AM)

I tell people, when they ask me why I'm in FL, that I have successfully escaped CA.  Thats what it feels like to me..lol

Honestly, though, I think everyone should spend time visiting CA.. it's a beautiful state.  All the different climates and terrain.  Just too crowded and the cost of living is obscene.
