CountrySong -> The Last Unicorn and broken hearts (4/29/2008 9:55:34 PM)

I'm Dom but just had my heart broken - the famous "Just Friends" after a trial collar (My fuck up not hers! Maybe a mutal case of miscomunitaion and assumptions. Sub Frenzy??).

I'm sitting here listening to the Last Unicorn sound track and wallowing in the pain. I thought just for fun I would ask some of the subs if they have any suggestions for good broken heart songs so i can speed the healing? Since most of the broken heart posts I've seen have been sub posts I thought I might get some response. My music styles are country, Christian, folk, 60-90's rock, some heavy metal.

I also wanted to let you know that Dom's, at least many that I know, love deeply and also hurt deeply when it ends. (Granted some are total jerks who will use and abuse anyone who is unlucky enough to fall for them. [I've have seen meat market lifestyle parties also.])

So let me know what music heals the ravenged soul?

Ooooh, if you like country then there is nothing that can help soothe (or at least entertain) a broken heart like Patsy Cline. I swear, 95% of her songs are about heartbreak, and 100% of her songs are amazing. She is one of the few country singers that I like, and is probably my #1 choice for a "wallowing in pain" soundtrack. Other than that, there is always Simon and Garfunkle; "Sound of Silence" or "I am a Rock" or "The Boxer" are some fun bitter and depressed songs to help get you through a rough time. Oh, and for sheer head banging entertainment value you can't help but rock out to "Bohemian Rapsody" by Queen... so fun, so cheezy, and so sing-along-able. It almost might be loud enough to drown out your sorrows.
Best!

I prefer to just make posts in the Ask A Submissive section with a testimony of my broken heart exposing my sensitive side so I can receive emails from attracted submissives who want to comfort my pain.

It really beats just sitting around listening to music...

Kenny Rogers or Reba both do "Sing Me a Song Sweet Music Man" (change the one word)
or if you wanna build a little strength try Lynn Andersons "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden".

Ohh!  And don't forget Willie Nelson's 'Red-Headed Stranger' album.... probably the best 'broken heart' album i've ever heard.

Damn it! You stole my answer. A good long country putt helps too.

Willie Nelson's "Wisky River"

Also, Alan Jackson's "Bubba Shot the Jukebox" not cause its really about a broken heart, but because its one of the best songs ever.

almost anything by Linkin Park works for me, with a touch of "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor, but I'm more about pulling myself up an moving on rather then wallowing.  Mmmm, Three Days Grace would work too (Pain, Over and Over, Gone Forever) oooo and Nickleback "Fight for all the wrong reasons" is good too (lyrics are worth a read, IMO)

The only cry in your bottle song I can think of is Poison's "Every Rose has it's Thorn"
